The satisfying sounds of sustainability 🔈

The Frankenthaler Climate Initiative is catalyzing climate action in the visual arts, and we're proud to have received a grant to install a new LED lighting system in the museum’s Main Galleries and adjacent exhibition spaces. The project will remediate inefficient incandescent lighting, increase energy efficiency, and decrease energy costs. 💡

In preparation for installation, Preparator Andrea Edwards spent time (with an assist from the CMC mat cutter) cutting 10°x30° and 20°x40° filters that help to soften and shape the light being emitted from the fixtures. That way, we can use the same fixtures as spots and floods with varying 10°x30° and 20°x40° filters. ✹

Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes looks, as we prepare for this exciting upgrade thanks to the Frankenthaler Climate Initiative of the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation. 👀
