She was eventually diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and had difficulty accepting her condition. Overtime, however, she was able to manage her symptoms through medical help and spirituality. Today, Nitty is in a better place and wants to use her platform to create visibility for those who have a mental illness. While in Panajachel, Sololá, we met Candelaria, a young indigenous girl whose dream is to become an English professor. She is a recent gradate of the Starfish program and through their endless support has become the first person in her family to receive a formal education despite the many cultural obstacles.Much like in other parts of the world, indigenous communities in Guatemala suffer from discrimination, marginalization, extreme poverty and conflict, and women and girls often experience the worst of it. Step 2: Following, he began with the back, putting a gentle bend in the hair with a one-inch iron and taking one-inch sections and spraying JoiShape Shaping & Finishing Spray to each section before curling.
