KieranThis is an improvement over my last TAS by exactly 5 seconds. The rest of the time difference was by using the more accurate VI/s for timing the run, and ending the run on last input to be more consistent console start TASes. The old encode of this run was based off video frames, which was inaccurate. The video in this run is ever so slightly faster than it should be, but timing is still based off the actual lag frames.
Besides that fiasco, the other time saves were mostly in Cold, Cold Crevasse. The slope at the start of the level turns out to be much faster for both stars, saving 43 frames for the penguin star and 11 frames for the lone star.
The second biggest time save was using the pause menu during its closing animation. By closing it instantly, we can use the time it spends closing to menu instead of keeping it open, which is a time save that adds up over the run.
The last time save of note is punch speed conservation, a trick pointed out to me by @hantevanna and discovered by @olds86307, which is used in Rocky Mountain and Lethal Lava Land.
Lastly, the route is slightly different in this run, starting with Cold, Cold Crevasse first due to baby penguin RNG being more favorable at the start. This also perfectly lines up RNG for a Bowser dance, which allows for a faster Bowser grab. All in all, this TAS is now 100% maxed and I'm done with it entirely. The old run was a 4:03.43.

However, you could collect the last one earlier with a dive if you don't care about exiting the course as quickly as possible. Though, since this was made for a full-game run to be made sometime in the future, I decided to time this on the first frame the start button is pressed to exit the course.
All movement in this TAS was created by myself, except for both BLJ setups which were TASed by Alexpalix1.[TAS] SM64: All 1-UPs in WMotR in 3440 (Cannonless)Kieran2025-08-21 | Time save of 8.2 seconds over the previous TAS. This TAS is the culmination of several months of work, with several contributors from the TAS community helping me this time around. Major contributors listed below:
Choux - Biggest contributor, helped optimize/compare routes, and did some castle movement. Alexpalix1 - Contributed to the HMC PU routing and sign clip strats. Crackhex - Did the exposed ceiling BLJ in THI, and optimized the movement in the level before that. DeRockProject - Mathematically modelled signs to figure out the best possible speeds for certain angles. tjk113 - Preliminary routing help + console verification
BitFS and Moat Door Skip are hexed from the 1 key TAS. Small castle movement segments are scattered across different authors from 120 (will get an extensive list when this TAS gets prepared for TASvideos.)
This run uses the Japanese version, due to shorter text boxes. However, the US version has higher possible sign reads due to version differences. The time differences are very close, and progress was already so far with JP. In short, it was way too much work to save a second or something by switching versions.
Enjoy :)[TAS] SM64: In the Talons of the Big Bird - 13.03 (-1f)Kieran2025-01-30 | I saved a frame at the end of this star by doing a speed kick to conserve more speed. I then double jump and ground pound into the star. This is much more precise than it looks because of spacing, quarter-frames, and angle.
I found a PU route that allows me to swim out of the cage, and I reactivated my PU speed and used the 10k glitch to slow myself down and grab the tree on the first possible frame. This saves 2 seconds and 1 frame off my previous best, and 2 seconds and 22 frames over the segment featured in my previous encode. This brings the All Trees% time to 8:27.950.[TAS] SM64: All Trees% in 8:30.650Kieran2024-12-19 | Note 1: This TAS does not follow the RTA ruleset (no SBLJ) for entertainment purposes. Note 2: Timing starts on first input and ends on last input.
This TAS grabs every tree in the game in record time, truly an amazing accomplishment. I started working on this project on October 31st, 2024. I don't know how many rerecords it took since I used a lot of scripted brute-forcing and hex editing. I would estimate probably 200k. This run was primarily created by myself, but I got a lot of help in making it as optimal as possible. Here's a comprehensive list of everyone that helped in some meaningful way:
TAS Segments: Krithalith - The Castle Grounds beginning BLJ is taken from his Death% TAS. His Scattershot VCutM BLJ is also replicated from 1 Key. Alexpalix1 - Did the starting PU movement for WDW (Taken from his Quick Race Through Downtown TAS) Crackhex - I replicated her movement to enter SSL. (Taken from her 16 star SBLJless TAS) Ajuda - I replicated their SBLJ strat to the BitFS SBLJ spot from the basement. (Taken from unfinished ABC GDQ run) Jeave - I used his TASes as reference, and some levels like CCM are almost exactly his routing since I could not improve upon it. Manama - I used his triple jump GWK in THI. 1-Key Team - I used segments from the 1-key TAS throughout the beginning of this run to access upstairs and basement levels early.
Other help: Blobfish Times - Suggested me to use the TAS strat for BLJing onto the island in BoB. TheBlazingmo - Suggested me to use the other door in the basement. Fifdspence - Showed me how to set up and use the Wafel SM64 bruteforcer, heavily used throughout the TAS to make sure everything was optimal.[TAS] BoB 100 Coins + Reds w/ Always Forward Joystick (outdated)Kieran2024-07-21 | This TAS is outdated, watch the new one: youtube.com/watch?v=7eRd8kLkJDo RRs: 18,286 (multiple route changes + janky camera)[WR] Cover Me in Debris Structureless SSG in 8:48.422 (Minecraft)Kieran2023-12-17 | This video is the world record for getting the advancement "Cover Me in Debris" in Minecraft without the use of structures, on a set seed with no glitches.
Seed: 7669790456032804477 (1.16.1) This seed was found by MathPuppy, and I spent around 3 hours figuring out the routing, 3 hours practicing the route, and 4 hours doing runs. I got a 8:38.150 but OBS decided I had to play for another 2 hours, sadly. This beats his previous WR by about 10 seconds. I think the limit for this seed is around a 8:30 time.
