Get a friend and login to a Conan Exiles PvP server. You need to be able to hurt each other for this achievement. I collected stuff into inventory until I was about 800% encumbered. I then climbed a small ledge, dropped onto my buddy and walked away. I did have to build a winding staircase (as high as the game would allow) up one of the Spires of the Volcano (near 'The Hidden Way') and reset my stats to max out Grit (Endurance) and I consumed a potion for a Grit bonus.
Some gamers mod their climbing gloves and boots with 'Gliding Joints' which will allow you to climb 50% farther than modding with Advanced Armor Flexibility kits.
I wanted to use Gliding Joint but I haven't been able to learn Grand Master Armor and Weapons Kits as I haven't yet been able to make it through the Warmaker's Sanctuary inside Klael's Stronghold.

When you see how I play Thunder Force II you'll know I wasn't cheating. Despite not doing well I feel this is a game that wont take too long to beat. The controls are very responsive and the action is fun and fast with lots of power ups to help recover from mistakes.
Often over shadowed by Thunder Force III and Lightening Force this game is still very fun and worth while. The alternating over head levels and side scrolling levels certainly make Thunder Force II a unique and varied addition to any Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Library.Retro Megabit: Sega Genesis - Herzog Zwei GameplayRetro Megabit: Sega Dude2017-08-15 | **This is Herzog Zwei for the Sega Genesis. The first playthrough in this video shows sever screen distortions through out various parts of the recording before the Master System finally died at the very end of Round 11. The second playthrough is a longplay of the Snail Maze game on the same Sega Master System after the repair.
In addition to having it work again I also noticed the image was brighter and clearer than before. It felt great putting new life back into one of my favorite systems.

Played on original hardware. No emulation, no save states , no flash carts, no cheats.**
I've really enjoyed playing Gleylancer. I was able to complete the game on the Normal difficulty setting and I found it a bit easy but a lot of fun. If you're into 16-bit Spaceship Shooter this is one you need to play.
In this longplay I turned off Scenario Mode in options which skips all the story cinematics. Although it's really cool to have what looks like a really thought out story in a shooter it's all in Japanese and unfortunately lost on me. And it add a lot of length to the video recording.
I felt empowered enough to try the game on Hard... and it really is hard. The change is very noticeable and intense. Nothing felt cheap but clearly it will take a lot of practice to tackle Gleylancer's hardest setting.

The Intro to Gleylancer is very long! Gameplay will start at ~5 minutes in.
I love a good spaceship shooter and Gleylancer is exactly that. I've really enjoyed my time with this game and even though I haven't beaten it yet I do believe it's a bit on the easy side. The graphics and physics are very good. The use of Satellites and a healthy variety weapons and enemy's are also really well done and appreciated. The levels are short but there are many of them. There is nothing new or unique to the genre here but everything the game does it does well. Gleylancer comes very close to being a perfect game if only the Bosses were a little bit tougher. For the most part they really do fall down too quickly.

Cadash takes two of my favorite retro video genres and does a great job blending them together. Cadash is a platformer first with solid RGP elements mixed in. I love the combat and I love earning money for new weapons, armor and items. I also love leveling up and getting stronger. There is a real sense of progression in the game other than just getting to the next level.
If you're patient enough you'll spend some time grinding for XP and leveling up instead of proceeding the first moment you're able to. This might have made the journey longer but it really helped make it stress free and totally fun.
I found Cadash to be pretty easy but I really enjoyed every moment with the game.

Played on original hardware. No emulation, no save states and no flash carts.**
This is one of my favorite games on the Sega Genesis. I always seem to enjoy a good Beat 'em Up and I feel Golden Axe is one of the best.
This is a Longplay of Golden Axe. A really Longplay... I had to use just about every continue and life that the game will offer. Despite that you'll see a few moments here and there were I really do shine. The game offers a really good challenge that anyone can master given a modest amount of practice. If you watch close you'll see that there are a lot of enemies that you can defeat really easily if you play smart.
This particular cartridge is the Sega Genesis version and it contains a bug that you will see during last Boss Fight. Very close to the end of the fight the entire screen will glitch. Almost everything will look wildly pixelated. The game is still playable but it's very hard to see what's going on. It stayed in this state until the battle was won and the screen transitions to the ending cinematic. In my experience this glitch is less common than the other flavor that will sometimes happen with this same cartridge. The other glitch that may occur happens when you kill Death Adder and as his Axe flies into the air it because pixelated. In this other version of the glitch (not shown in this video) it's only the Axe that is pixelated and not the entire screen. Again, this glitch will remain this way until the screen transitions.
If you're a fan of the genre and Retro Video games there's a very good chance that you already know Golden Axe. But if you've never played before you should grab a friend and give it a try.

So after many many many years since the last time I played The Legend of Zelda a Link to the Past I have decided to play it again.
This is not news (unless you're new to the retro video gaming scene); The Legend of Zelda is a really excellent game. In fact, in my opinion, it's among the best of the 16bit era.
After about two and half hours into the game I felt like I really accomplished a lot. Despite getting lost on occasion and sometimes not being entirely sure where I should go I always felt like I was getting something done.
The Legend of Zelda is a really fun game with a good amount of challenge while at the same time it's not too punishing.

It's a classic shooter experience that swaps the more common Sci-Fi themes of the 90's with a High Fantasy Medieval flavor that works very well.
With very nice graphics, an amazing sound track and easy controls Elemental Master is a really enjoyable game.
Listen real close when your Fairy friends Neena hands over the Elemental ring to you. I didn't figure it out in this play though but this ring gives your primary weapon a charged shot you can use to beat the up coming bosses!

Played on original hardware. No emulation, no save states and no flash carts, no cheats.**
Listen close... Below is a recording of Phantasy Star for the Sega Master System on actual hardware (an actual SMS console). Not awe struck yet?... This Phantasy Star is the smspower.org English translation of the game and includes full FM sound as well. The game is running on a dedicated board without any form of flash cart.
What's the advantage? It's Phantasy Star as it always should have been!!! I personally feel this is huge on the cool factor; which has to count for something.
With lots of help from many talented people around the web I was able to replace the original ROM on a Phantasy Star cartridge with what I feel is a very interesting reboot of the original version. Specially for anyone looking for an extra reason to play through the game again.
There are two major differences in this SMS Power version that I felt made all this work worth while:
1) The dialog is expanded; adding more context and descriptive detail. 2) FM sound has been restored so that any Sega Master System equipped with FM sound can take full advantage of this restoration.
Keep in mind that I also had to soldier an FM Sound Board into my Master System. **Their are other options for FM sound like the PowerBase Mini FM.**
In this video I played for abut 1 hour and 20 minutes and I managed to add both Myau and Tylon to Alisa's party before I called it a day. You'll be able to listen to a lot of FM tunes and sound effects as well as sample some of the English translation.

I've wanted to play this game for a long time and but it was just too difficult with my Japanese Mega Drive version. Now for the first time I've had a chance to try it out. And I'm really pleased to say it's a very good game. Lots of platforming action with some RPG elements in the form of upgrading your gear. The graphics are some of the best I've seen on the Genesis and despite not being very skilled yet I'm really enjoying this one!

Tetris is a simple idea for a game that works brilliantly. It's fun and challenging and it's timeless.

I wanted something a little flasher than the stock mini marquees which often used about half of the image to show instructions on how to play the game.
I sent the images I made to a local print shop and they printed them onto Backlit Film. I think they look nice but they do get a bit washed out when they are lit.
I'm going to speak to the store and see if they can make any recommendation... thicker blacklit film or something? Or maybe this is as good as it gets. Which I would be happy with. In real life they do not look as washed when lit as they appear in this video.
It's my plan to make one mini marquee for every Neo Geo MVS game that I have :)

There is no doubt in my mind that I did not spend enough time with this game. Romance of the Three Kingdoms III is not a game you can't just pick and play. Maybe it's a good strategy/sim game I don't know. I would need to spend a lot more time with it to find out. But for me this one is not what I think of when it comes to 16-bit video games.

I've seen videos of gameplay footage of Earnest Evans before playing it myself and I was pretty sure I wasn't going to like it.
I was right. Even though controlling Earnest isn't as hard as I was expecting it's still not a fun game. The rag doll style of Earnest and his whip attack look really ugly. The mechanics of crouching and going into the prone position feel like they've been made complex for no good reason. This on top of plain graphics and uninspired enemies makes for a poor game.

Similar to Forgotten Worlds in Caliber 50 you rotate your character by holding button A and then rotate him the other direction by hold button C and you fire the center button B. This control scheme has never been very good but it's the best that can be done on a joystick which does not have an arcade style stick that you twist.
This video shows my very first time playing Caliber 50 and it's not all that fun. At first I really hated the controls but I did start getting use to them. It's not good but it's functional. The game itself is OK but I don't feel like going back for more.

Mystical Fighter is an isometric (Golden Axe style) fighting game and it's a good game. Not amazing but good. Games like Golden Axe and Streets of Rage have it beat on every count but it's still a worth while entry.
Even though the game will recycle a lot of sprites; sending identical but different colored enemies at you the graphics are still good and there is still enough variety in the characters.
Occasionally I would pick-up and or throw an enemy and I was never quite sure how I did it. But it still helped make the combat feel more interesting despite being pretty simplistic.
The level design although a little plain still looks good enough and in some stages the environment can be used to hurl enemies off cliffs or down into a variety of bottomless pits. Of course the same can happen to you but I liked seeing this. It reminded me a lot of Golden Axe where I used that to my advantage a lot. I also tried to take advantage of this in Mystical Fighter but you can see it sometimes got the best of me.
