↡ Fontainebleau Bouldering ↡
We were greeted in Fontainebleau by 15cm of snow and empty supermarket shelves, a weekend snow storm had turned the forest into a beautiful spectacle of clean whites and deep conifer greens.
Fortunately, rain throughout the night melted away much of the snow on top of the boulders, and we were able to visit 95.2 during the afternoon of our first full day. Here, we tried a few red circuit problems in the central area, before heading towards Retour Aux Sources briefly shown on film illuminated by lamps. We didn't have any success on this fantastic boulder, but I managed to send Zyno 7a+, not captured on film.
Our second day in Font was decorated by blue skies and sunshine. We hiked into the Apremont area for the first time, seeking out Apremont Desert to try our luck on the Rhino Feroce boulder. We spent a lot of time walking through the area, before warming up on some tough circuits and finding Hannah a tricky 6a which she dispatched quickly. Rhino Feroce turned out to be a very stiff pull off the deck, and once I had this move was locked down I still needed to work out how to mantle over the boulder's nose without succumbing to sloper pump.
