Wangan Midnight Eurobeat AMV, featuring Reina and Akio. WM is all about tuning and high-speed street racing in Tokyo. I'm sure most of you Eurobeat fans watching this are more familiar with the Initial D anime series, so I assume you are also familiar with Kyoko Iwase. Reina Akikawa is like Wangan Midnight's version of Kyoko (even though Wangan Midnight was around years before Initial D). "Fly Away" by Digital Planet is essentially Kyoko's theme soundtrack, so it's only fitting that I used that song for this music video. The differences Reina has from Kyoko is that she is a rich superstar, and also one of the main characters throughout the series, she has a passion for street racing and owns a tuned R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R, as opposed to Kyoko's FD Mazda RX-7. Akio Asakura is the main character of Wangan Midnight. His car is an S30 Datsun 240Z, nicknamed the "Devil Z." Reina competes against him in numerous races. In the process of trying to beat him she develops a crush on him. But Akio is too focused on tuning and racing to notice that she likes him. BUT *Spoiler*
After the 98th episode of Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 6...
When Reina is about to leave Japan to move to the USA due to work opportunities as an actress, she finally tells Akio her feelings. HE ACCEPTS (even to the point of giving her a farewell on the Wangan, to ensure that she could see him and the Z one last time). Akio awaits her return...
