This is a gross misrepresentation of the truth. Only 50% of the globe earth gets daylight. The remaining portion as depicted on timeanddate.com and on the weather channel also include the portion in twilight and represents areas that receive sunlight, directly or indirectly due to atmospheric scattering.

I created this quick #ASMR like video as a filler to provide a historical record of how Dave Weiss' FE clock app shows the current understanding of the flat earth model.
Will Weiss change the behaviour of his app if the results from the expedition shows that there is indeed 24 hours of sun circling 360º around them in December?
The @The-Final-Experiment is making the average #FlatEarth believer terrified of the very likely outcome it will show the earth is a globe. The coping mechanisms are fun to watch in action.
I whipped something up so hopefully if @FTFEOfficial does another live stream or @MCToon does something similar, the point of the stream will not be on keeping the donations sorted out.

I thought I would spend a few minutes doing this to have a bit of a laugh at their inability or unwillingness to even acknowledge the globe position. I gave it all the attention and thought the flerfs deserve.

Since the north/south axis at the equator is parallel to earth's rotation, this simple transformation is very easy for anyone to do to show that there really is 15º/hour for anyone, anywhere.
No wonky explanation like azimuthal grid-of-vision is needed to shoehorn an explanation for a #FaltEarth.
Ok, fine, let's play with that, shall we? For his statement to make sense, we need to put the solar system origin at earth, not the sun, while all other things remain equal. The sun will be the only thing that doesn't go all wobbly.
I decided to use the inverse square law to estimate how much electricity "THEY" would need to illuminate Union Glacier where @The-Final-Experiment is expected to go, so "THEY" could fake the sun and fool the expedition.... The amount is preposterous. Incredibly preposterous. So preposterous it puts the Acme devices Wile E. Coyote gets look reasonable.

I also selected specific web camera images from over 7 months worth of collecting to show how a predicted globe earth model position matches the moon's observed position.
@FTFEOfficial might have missed some of the subtlety of those misunderstandings, so I thought I would take a bit of time in this video to provide my own analysis.

I remain skeptical that this expedition will achieve the intended outcome, but we can always try to maximize its success with careful preparation.

At what point does the "real" sun get switched for a "reflection" and why has no one every seen the transition from the one to the other?
This animation is what they, like everyone else, everywhere else should see. A sun that always changes size and never sets. Being outside (South) of the tropic, it should never circle above them, but always stay north of east/west.
Other than that, Google Earth says the elevation at the camp should be 767 meters, the planned arrival date is December 14th and the camp site may or may not be where we think it will be.
Other than those silly confounding variables, even at the earliest date, it still seems the @The-Final-Experiment expedition should be able to see the full 24 hour sun.
I show in this video the process I used to recreate mount Rossman and how the camp site may or may not be cast in the shadow cast by it.
After several predictions (and videos) based on progressively more precise information regarding the@The-Final-Experiment upcoming expedition, I think I got the path of the sun reasonably close to what it should be like if the earth is a globe.
The previous videos were made out of haste and a bit of laziness regarding the precise location of the camp and local topography, but I wanted to create this animation that is a fair approximation of what the expedition will see when they get there in December.
I used google earth street view to create a panoramic image source for my virtual pan/tilt/zoom camera. I also used the same math I showed in the last video with the distances and elevations reported by google earth to calculate the elevation angle of the highest mountain peak and with that, I was much more careful to create a virtual camera landscape with that computed elevation angle. I also compare my generated images against images taken from videos from people who were there.
This will probably be the last one I make (for a while) on this subject.... I hope.
(and if you didn't notice, I put a joke in the thumbnail related to acceleration caused by gravity, something flat earthers deny and are blissfully unaware of how it's calculated)
I also came up with several more ideas to possibly make their trip that much more successful.
I also see that the company chosen to take them there (ALE - Antarctic Logistics and Expeditions) provides multiple time zones for reference.
I suggest everyone get used to the idea of which time zone will be the reference, mainly to avoid unnecessary confusion when the results from the expedition will be made available.
I'm almost done making the multi projection animations for the various Southern Hemisphere flights.
I also went back to revisit a prediction I made suggesting where the moon should be the following day.

All this because #FlatEarth thinks.... Well, I don't know what exactly flat earth thinks. They are all extremely inconsistent.
I decided to take the animation from that video and use the code I wrote earlier to project onto a globe and play that animation sequence from multiple locations.
I showed the process in my last video that should let us calculate the height of the sun, Polaris or anything else in the sky if the earth was flat, but rather than ponder the accuracy of the process and extend it to celestial objects, I got a hot mess of pointless comments.

There were three things out of the ordinary that stood out, felt a bit strange even otherworldly, and yet didn't really feel all that out of place.
This is not a video showing the eclipse, but more like a journal of how I perceived the event.

After fixing the various formulas, I used the resulting values to create new animations for both the #2017 #solareclipse2017 and the upcoming #2024 #solareclipse2024 .
As always, flat earth is entirely inconsistent with the way eclipses are observed and expected to work. No special magic is needed for a globe, yet if the earth WAS flat, there would be a great deal of magic required that flat earthers seem incapable, unable or unwilling to provide.

Using broad strokes and wild assumptions, I animate the expected path of totality for a flat earth (which not only fails but is nothing like reality). Also, letting the moon drift around aimlessly and be an arbitrary height or size, where it should be to produce the expected path of totality.
Finally, to show an example of pointless eye candy, I added a stereo mode to the AE map projection, allowing one to see the different heights of the sun and moon over the flat earth.

I decided to use my multi-transformation clock app to create animations of the 2017 and the upcoming 2024 eclipses to illustrate how the path of the eclipse can work on a globe.
According to #FlatEarth, this should be a best fit on their North Pole centric AE map, and yet it's not.
By all accounts, the flight between New York and Moscow appears to be a straight path (more or less) on both the AE map and on the globe, but unfortunately, when we apply the same kind of process to other flights, it very quickly becomes evident that flights don't make any sense on a flat earth.
I am quite confident that flat earthers MUST cherry pick their flights and even misrepresent them to convince others (and maybe themselves) that we must somehow live on a flat and stationary earth.
I will be exploring many more flights in subsequent videos.
Since the aspect ratio of the globe earth is preserved in this video, it does not quality as a 3D video. With a bit of trickery, forcing yourself to view beyond the image so each eye sees its own copy of the earth, a similar 3D effect is possible.
... I decided to do that.
I compare the size in pixels of the sun in the referenced Wolfie6020 sunset video as the sun is setting and found a few interesting things along the way. I also test the end-to-end process to see what YouTube MIGHT do that could contribute to getting such results.
When the very small sun was expanded to a much larger size, it did appear to seemingly get a bit smaller, at least by a tiny bit and that is subjective given it only seems to shrink by two pixels out of 27. From all the processing done on the video available here on YouTube, that could have come from anywhere and when I take one of the frames that came from YouTube and play with the contrast/brightness, it seems very compelling that the sun does stay the same size and the apparent change of the sun's size is coincidence.
One other thing I completely forgot to add in the video is that when you watch Wolfie6020's original video (the portion without the use of the solar filter), the point where the sun appears to start shrinking is caused by clouds far off in the distance. With the presence of those clouds, this entire exercise was pretty much pointless.

I read out the definition of what "daylight" means. If you don't like it, feel free to cite a source that says otherwise.
Either they don't want to or they can't, but there is no flat earth model. The best any of us can do is attempt to triangulate the position of the sun from the observable elevation angles and when we do, we quickly realize that it is indeed the flat earth that doesn't work.

The code I wrote and made available over a year ago shows exactly how to go about calculating the direction of the sun, moon, stars and planets. The math used clearly shows how earth is spherical.

I used a tool (there are MANY that all agree) to confirm the movement and expected visibility of the sun (not including cloud cover)
I used an app I wrote years ago for another project to determine the camera's orientation
I used Google Earth pro to match against the buildings in the camera live feeds and the direction obtained is more confirmation that everything matches as expected

Ok, challenge given and challenge accepted. This is part 1 of what will be several (how many? I'm not sure) videos showing how it works just fine on a globe earth.
Maybe our illustrious flat earther can provide math to show how such observations would match a flat earth?
If earth was a giant flat disc, how could that part of their magical pancake never get dark when I live in a location that should get more light than them, but I get more night than day during the same period?
#FlatEarth cannot explain this. All they have are fantasies and wishful thinking that cannot match reality.
In fact, I would hope this is used by most of your viewers the next time you go through a video like this so everyone can share their results at the end and help keep some sort of consensus.
If it's deemed to be quite useful, I have ideas for a new one with a lot of extra features, but that would be for another time.

1) 4 separate tools I looked at agree with each other (only one seems off by precisely 8 hours, strongly suggesting a timezone issue)
2) The location and direction of the sun is based on a spherical earth
3) All tools are able to make predictions of future events
4) The math says the earth is a sphere (this is point # 2 repeated, but it's so important, I had to say it again)
I'm pretty sure there is a standalone stellarium app version that can be downloaded and that will probably not have the time issue I discovered. The math clearly demonstrates how insane flat earth is, yet there is a segment of the earth's population who, despite all the evidence out there to the contrary, cling to that belief.
Flat earth is so far on the right side of the silly scale, it's not funny any more.
