Optiscaler/DLSS Enabler lets you enable DLSS with any GPU on most games and it can inject XeSS super resolution along with FSR 3 frame generation to allow you to enable DLSS upscaling as well as DLSS frame gen, even with my GTX 1080 Ti. It runs surprisingly well and XeSS looks surprisingly good at the "ultra performance" preset, (trying to maintain as much GPU headroom for recording on the same GPU as possible.) Without frame gen with ultraperf/performance upscaling you can get a 40 fps or higher experience, with frame gen it goes to 60-80 fps and feels much smoother.
Flight Simulator is a prime candidate for using frame generation. The camera remains mostly stationary for long periods and the game does not require rapid or twitch movements whatsoever. Combine this with MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024's gigantic CPU burden, the GPU is often underutilized and has performance to spare for frame gen, as the CPU is almost always the bottleneck in this game, even on high end CPUs. At least, that's what causes the frame drops it seems, especially in cities, which I test in this video for that purpose.

(DLSS Enabler makes it really easy to install Optiscaler and XeSS/FSR 3 frame gen into games for any GPU from any vendor.) #gtx1080ti #flightsimulator #framegeneration #XeSS #fsr3 #msfs2024
