In this video we take a look at the Caddx Walksnail Avatar HD FPV video system.
If you know me from social media, you may also know that I am not the biggest supporter of HD. Don't get me wrong, the image is amazing, and a big improvement over analogue. But for me, there is so much more to an FPV video system than just the image quality. The OSD, range, penetration, flexibility of installation, cost, and how much the company listen to the community are all just as important.
However, over the last few months, it seems that HD FPV video systems are getting much closer to where the meet more of the requirements than don't. So I was certainly paying more attention to them.
I had the opportunity to get an Avatar set, to work on INAV. So I thought these goggles and VTx were provided by Caddx for that purpose. But, I figured while I had them, I may as well check them out and give you my feedback.
[NOTE] I have spotted an error in the table I show comparing the different HD FPV options. In the range column for DJI + WTF it should still be 2, the same as regular DJI. So the total for DJI + WTF is 29.
