First off, I want to thank everybody for taking time out of there day to join the LiveStream. I'm trying out, for the first time, the StreamYard LiveStream software and the end result is a bit on the rough side. The photographs and speech came through good, but my attempt at lip syncing to the audio did not come across very well. I appreciate your patience as I continue my journey through the technical difficulites, on my way to finding the "sweet spot" for good LiveStream presentations.
In 1898, Omaha, Nebraska hosted the Trans-Mississippi & International Exposition. It is said, that in just 9 months, the workforce took 100 acres of undeveloped bluff land and turned it into a World's Fair City. The crew would have had to have worked through a Nebraska winter, as they laid the dozens of building foundations, gas lines, water lines, electrical lines, and constructed a massive lagoon.
When we look at the interiors of these buildings, we see that they are finished, floored, and have hundreds of elaborate displays, all of which were ready for opening day in June of 1898. Only 9 months prior a visitor would have been standing in an open field, which begs the question:
How large of an army would be needed to complete this work in that timeframe?
Is there trickery at play with the photographs, the timeline, and the story?
Were these buildings already in place, prior to 1897, and they were cleaned up for the event and dismantled afterwards? Making the "construction" photographs, actually de-construction photographs.
The speech that comprised the audio is a very famous speech by William Jennings Bryan, a politician and orator of the late 1800s and early 1900s. He resided in Nebraska, my home state, he ran for president three times, served in the House of Representatives, and was Secretary of State under President Woodrow Wilson. His "Cross of Gold" speech is a very famous American political speech and I encourage those interested to listen to the entire speech. I found the words to be applicable with the acts on today's world stage.
