Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection

The group finds a room where four more crystals await them.

B5 of the Depths holds 4 familiar bosses if you've played through the first Final Fantasy: Lich, Marlillith, Krakken, and Tiama; the Fiends of the the Four Elements.
The order you fight them in is up to you, and to be completely honest, three of them are complete pushovers, especially if you choose the proper party members.

I'll go over them in the order I chose to fight them:

Lich is easy if you bring some Black Mages with Firaga, or if you have a White Mage with Holy. One thing I completely forgot to do before the fight is cast Float on the party and had to waste a turn doing so.
If you want to make this fight laughable bring either Rydia and Rosa and use the Holy Burst band, Porom and Leonora and use their Sprite Bred Band, or Porom and Rosa and use the Holy Ray Band.

The only real attacks you should watch for with Lich is his Black Hole spell which will remove float. If he casts it, put float back on the party as soon as you can to nullify his Quake spell. Other than that his Physical attacks do hurt, so Protect and/or Blink on your weaker party members may be handy.

Marlillith is similar in difficulty. As long as you bring some Black Mages with Blizzaga you should be golden. Sadly there's not too many Ice Element bands to make this fight even more of a pushover, the only ones I know of are: Ice Crush with Palom, Leonora, and Luca, the other is Leonora and Izayoi's Frost Wave band.

Marlillith will counter magic attacks with Silence which you shouldn't really need to worry about at this point in the game. She will also counter Physical attacks with her own, and they do pack quite a punch, so Protect and Blink will help there. The only thing you really need to watch out for is if she decides to use Entice on a party member, and nothing is worse than having one of your own team members wipe your party out.

Krakken is similar as well, Black mages with Thundaga will be your forte in this fight. Rydia and Luca's Lightning Brain Buster band, Rydia and Ceodore's Thunder Wave band, or Rydia and Palom's Thunder Stom band are the only three lightning elemental bands I know of that will help out here.

Unlike the other two fiends, Krakken has a few attacks to watch out for. First off, if you hit him with a physical attack he will use Constrict on you, which can be a pain. He'll counter magic with Bile which isn't so bad. His Blizzaga spell can do a bit of damage so use Shell to help out with that. His main attack to worry about is his Tidal Wave. You'll know when it's coming when he starts to gather energy, if you see him start to glow then make sure you are healed up before he uses it.

While those three were, to be honest, laughably easy, the last one is a pain in the rear end. Tiamat has no elemental weaknesses we can exploit, and he can completely wipe your party easily if you get unlucky like I do in this video (which thankfully I manage to save it).

The main thing to worry about Tiamat is that he has a chance to counter Black magic with Maelstrom, which will reduce your entire party's HP to single digits.
During my pre-recording test of the battles, he didn't cast this but once on me before the fight ended, however while recording he hits me with it a lot.
He also uses Thunderbolt which can deal massive damage to a single target (likely taking out the weaker party members in a single hit), and he also has Thermal Rays which will will damage the entire party and can be deadly if he uses it after he hits you with Maelstrom which you can see from the video.

If you play this fight cautiously and you should be fine, though. Just don't go overboard with magic like I did in the video to be safe.

With those four out of the way, we'll continue our descent in the next segment.
