Sain can't take the bosskill in a 3 Turn so Lyn steps up again. In original testing I had Erk chip the bossfirst so that the bosskill more reliably went to Lyn, but since I was unable to find any scenario that 5 Strength Lyn actually helped, having her attack first to potentially feed the boss to Erk is more useful.
There is a 16% chance that the Merc that Erk chips on Turn 2 rolls up on HP and Resistance, meaning that he cannot be 2HKO'd, meaning Erk has to dedicate his Turn 3 action to killing the Merc. This means Lyn has to try to get the bosskill by herself in a 3 Turn at 65%~ chance.
A 2 turn is possible if Florina drops Lyn next to the boss on Turn 2, Erk crits the Archer and a Cavalier ORKOs or crits the top right Brigand. However setting this up results in increased CoD so the minor reduction in the average clear turn is canceled out, making this a better strategy.
The rough calculations for the expected turncount are
95%~ chance for a 3 turn
5%~ chance for a 4 turn
The conditional mean clear turn is 3.05~
The conditional mean reset turn is 0
The reset penalty is 0
The expected turncount is 3.05~
Pessimistic Mode is a hack by Doesnt on feuniverse that only allows player character stats to increase if there is a 90% chance of them having increased by the level you have just attained. It is close to 0% growths in reliability but brings stat growths into the equation to reward training units and to help compare units better than by using averages.
