📯 Peat Season takes a turn into Danish territory! Today I’m reviewing Fary Lochan Nettle-Smoked Single Malt — Sherry Cask #1, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2018 at 52.5% ABV.
This rare Danish whisky is smoked not with peat… but fresh nettles, inspired by Danish food traditions. And the result? A uniquely sweet, herbal, smoky character layered with jammy sherry notes.
📜Founded by Jens-Erik Jørgensen in 2009 and now run by his wife and sons, Fary Lochan has become one of Denmark’s most respected small distilleries — producing hand-made, unchillfiltered whisky in the village of Farre, Jylland.
