Skip to 4:14 to see a glimpse of the Abandoned Turnpike. Skip to 5:33 to start seeing some stunning views.

My school's chamber choir made the 4-hour trip from Pittsburgh to Hershey today to perform at the PMEA Conference, so on the way back I decided to film some of the amazing views you get on the Turnpike. This video starts a bit east of the Fort Littleton interchange and ends just west of the Breezewood interchange. I point out where the original turnpike once went, and show the fantastic views you get from atop the Ray's and Sideling hills, on the 13-mile bypass of the tunnels through those hills. Sadly my phone didn't want to focus half the time, and then a giant truck pulled up next to us at the worst possible time :(

You'll also hear a bunch of random chatter about various subjects from my friends in the background.

While not in the video, I also got to ride on the well-known 11-mile straightaway to the east of the Blue Mountain tunnel. It's hilarious to drive 11 miles with absolutely no turns at all....but hey, the new 70 MPH speed limit is pretty nice!
