This video presents the Digital Farm Succession project, an initiative supporting fair, transparent and gender-equal farm transitions through digital training, expert guidance and online peer-learning. The project helps farm families - especially women and younger farmers - navigate the legal, financial and emotional aspects of succession in a more informed and inclusive way.
Through online modules, expert webinars and peer-learning sessions, participants can access training and advisory support regardless of their geographic location. Connectivity enables rural communities to participate in discussions, access expert networks and use digital tools to plan succession steps that may otherwise be unavailable locally.
The project demonstrates how broadband connectivity can reduce social and geographic isolation, support women’s leadership in farm management, and encourage younger generations to see farming as a modern and viable career path. It also provides a replicable model for more sustainable and inclusive rural development across Europe.
The project was presented in the context of the Agricultural and Rural Inspiration Awards (ARIA), an EU CAP Network initiative recognising innovative and impactful rural development projects across Europe.
