We talk about some of the different types of spoilboard you can make and ultimately why I go with the one in this video.
***Update*** I should have been clearer in my video - if you are going to tram your spindle first (which can be beneficial), it needs to be to a flat surface like Mark shows in this video by using a pane of glass youtube.com/watch?v=FzFPadoZH5Q&t=680

Carvera Air updateJames Dean Designs2024-05-05 | I've put the Carvera Air CNC machine through a few tests in the short time that I have had and here are my thoughts so far.
This machine is packed with features, will do spindle/router work on the flat bed or a 4th axis. Use the inbuilt probe for setting bit heights or checking how level a surface is. Quick change for bits or quick change out to the laser. It really can do it all. A beginners and hobby CNC that ticks a lot of boxes.
Makera previously ran a succesfull Kickstarter on the original Carvera but if you are not familiar with how Kickstarter works, please do your own research ahead of any purchase.
