Students visit studios, attend live and sitcom TV productions, meet with alumni, and get a sense of what LA has to offer.
This is the 2014 group that I was a part of. A great way to close out my senior year of college.
*Production note* -Filmed using a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera with a rented Panasonic 14mm pancake lens (which had dust in the elements that I did not notice until I reviewed the footage). -This is definitely the last time I would take the pocket camera anywhere without some type of stabilization rig. -I also missed having the quality of the Sigma 18-35 lens, but decided it was too big to carry around everywhere.Atmospheres - Practical Visual EffectsDan Hildebrand2014-01-31 | Playing around with some condensed milk and glitter in the fish tank! This is a title sequence created by me to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who!
I wanted to depict the Doctor's journey to Earth and the fact that he is not a particularly good pilot.
The workflow for this intro consisted primarily of After Effects and Element 3D (a 3D particle plugin for After Effects), allowing me to composite 3D objects and make adjustments right inside of the After Effects Composition.24 Intro - After Effects TutorialDan Hildebrand2013-07-19 | In my second tutorial, i'll show you how to recreate the 24 opening sequence using just Adobe After Effects (no additional plugins). The basis for this tutorial centers around using the wiggle command to randomly affect the opacities of several different layers in the same composition.Free TARDIS Green Screen FootageDan Hildebrand2013-05-23 | I had a couple requests to create some stock footage of the TARDIS. I haven't had much time lately but decided to take a little bit to put this together!
The TARDIS moves about the screen and then hovers in the center of the screen for a few seconds.
If you use this in a project then post a video response! I'm interested to see the results!Asleep in the Deep - Behind the ScenesDan Hildebrand2013-03-21 | Over Spring Break 2013, a crew of Ohio University students traveled to Nashville to make a film for their Advance Narrative Production class. As part of the crew, my job was to shoot behind the scenes footage. We had a blast.
This segment is the result of several hours of raw footage and about a week of editing time.
Filmed with Canon t4i, Canon XA10 (mounted on a SteadyVid Pro), and a GoPro
Note: At the time of the trip, the working title for the film was How John Boscoe Outsung the Devil.
