In this video I’m using 3 unsynced OP-Z to create a phasing loop.. each OP-Z is set to 123,125,127 bpm respectively. There’s a fine balance in finding the “right” bpm intervals when phasing. MODULAR | ASSIMIL8OR | Sweeping Drum Loops Michael Hellqvist 2022-03-23 | This was kind of a Breakthrough patch for me.. I’ve long sought to find a type of sweeping drumbeat sound and using the Assimil8or and Clank Chaos I really nailed the sound I was after: Clank chaos is sending slow and looong gates to two stereo channels on Assimil8or. Two stereo preset samples provided by mr Richard Devine serves as the foundation. The gist is that each CV from Clank is modulating sample start/end loop start/end (end set to the minimum value). Start is set to -1 and end is set to +1. At the same time the same CV from clank is modulation linear and exponential FM (-1 and +2) With negative value on linear fm the loops tends to want to go backwards but setting exponential to a positive values starts to create a tug of war of sorts cobbled together with the sample start/end and loop start/end modulation.. Some further shenanigans are happening with Qu-Bit RT60, Befaco rampage and MI Stages. The drum loops is being sent to MI ears and further to Rampage to modulate the RT60 which Assimil8or is going into. Let in line is WMD MSCL which is being side chained by the envelope from MI Ears Will definitely explore this type of patching a lot more!
