In The Obsessive Shadow, you take on the role of Liam, a 9-year-old boy left alone in his home after the power suddenly goes out, plunging the house into suffocating darkness. Armed with only a flashlight, you must navigate the unsettling dangers of the night as you are being watched throughout the night. Your mother's voice on the phone is your guide to surviving, But as her instructions grow more confusing and the unease deepens, the safety of her words begins to feel increasingly fragile. Something is watching, a shadowy figure moving just out of sight, waiting for you to slip up. As the hours creep forward, the once-familiar home becomes an unfamiliar labyrinth of fear, each corner hiding the possibility of confrontation with the lurking entity. Testing your courage and instincts as you struggle to stay one step ahead of the unseen threat. Your mother's voice remains your lifeline, but survival demands more than just following her instructions... it requires vigilance, quick thinking, and a determination to face the overwhelming dread. Will you endure the relentless terror and make it to morning, or will the suffocating darkness claim you before dawn?

"Taking place in the future, humanity has finally developed the technology to advance from Earth and maintain numerous colonies. Various planets were discovered and colonized by man, but none of them had established any extraterrestrial existence prior to colonization. The most prosperous planet colony had been set on the planet Syracuse where human technology (and apparently linguistics) flourished. However, a distress call came from Syracuse claiming that the flagship of its military, the Aphrodite, initiated a violent rebellion against the people and its passengers refused to make any demands or reason. The player is sent from headquarters in the middle of space to planet Syracuse in the Verytex star fighter to stop the battle and find its true cause."
Quite a basic but good shoot em up for the mega drive (japan only). Only 1 loop begining to end thankfully as that last boss was a real pain with beams and shots going everywhere. Nice music and gfx which can really get in the way when your flying at speed and trying to see/dodge the shots.
The special power/smart bomb effect never seemed to do an awful lot. I could easily go through them and not make a dent on the boss. There are only 3 weapons and I didn't notice if you can upgrade them or not. I didn't try to collect same weapon a few times I row, but didn't notice any upgraded effect. Most of the enemy attack patterns are pretty standard and easy to memorize, and don't differ much through the course of the game. Getting to the bosses is the easy part or so it seems.

A rare but very memorable beat 'em up game from my childhood.
The customization and many different combat abilities made this game stand out distinctively.

Monotonus beat'em up that follows the movie, I think.
Repetitive combat, music, levels, enemies. Kind of a snooze fest unless you like to compare versions of this title.

The Original Road Rash game that started the series on the Sega Genesis.
I took the approach of waiting until the bike simply couldnt compete before each bike upgrade. This gives best chance of having the best bikes by level 5 and you will need them. Buying each bike as soon as you can afford them as by the time you get to level5, youll need to make a lot of money and only scoring low placements so would take forever to win level5.
Even on the best bike, the game seems a little unforgiving and really makes you work for getting to the front of the pack. Their isnt much of an ending to this game. once you beat level 5, it just loops so you can do it again and can potentially play forever making money you cant spend on anything after the final bike. That said, most of the Road Rash games do this and never really end.
The Amiga is the odd one out however with a more appropriate ending to the game. I also prefer the music in the Amiga version and its also the first road rash game I ever played so maybe im biased or just spot on :)

Game was played on Mania (hard) difficulty and two playthroughs have been shown.
00:00 - First playthrough, game was set to Original game mode and plays like the arcade and other ports. I collected all 7 diamonds in each level and all 7 large diamonds after killing the boss. Oddly this still resulted in the bad ending. Maybe the difficulty is demanding a second loop. On the final level I also collect all diamonds in order to unlock the secret door which appears after killing the boss. It was too much of a pain to try and make it work for every island.
44:13 - Second playthrough, game was set to Extra mode. In this mode the islands get a bit of a shuffle and different enemies are used. The first island is darious themed. At some point I collect the diamonds in order again and unlock the wings. I kinda abuse for the rest of the game and fly right through levels after i get my diamonds and gives me an edge at the boss stages. Thankfully the good ending appears this time.

Translated in English, the title would mean Fury! Delivery Boy. And this is what the game is all about - you're an errand boy, sent by grocery clerks, to collect and receive whatever they tell you and try not to get robbed along the way. The game is fully in Japanese, but I beat it thanks to a video walkthrough that was posted on nicovideos. Also the bomb button is the same as the interaction button so that's why it seems I drop bombs at random many times.

This game can get insanely hard, wave after wave of enemies to survive against, and especially towards the end of the game where each arena seems to take 10 mins or so to get through. I'm not sure if the developers intended anyone to beat the game, and the lack of music on the end screen re-enforces this.
The video is quite long, I'm not sure if I played badly and missed something important, but I think I have shown everything including bonus rooms.

Best of the Best: Championship Karate (also known as Super Kick Boxing, The Kick Boxing, Andre Panza Kick Boxing) is a kick boxing video game. The objective is to win the kick boxing championship by defeating an array of kick boxing masters in a series of fighting matches.
The game was originally released in 1990 in Europe for various computers as well as the TurboGrafx-16. It is obviously inspired by the cult 1988 film Bloodsport as well as the 1989 movie Best of the Best.
Best of the Best: Championship Karate is a realistic fighting game. You can either focus on utilizing the default fighting style or choose your own. You can train your fighter at a gym before the real fights. The game prevents players from winning by spamming same attack over and over since the AI will automatically learn to defend and counter each attack every time you land a hit. Doing the same attack three times in a row will result in a referee ordering fighters to stop and step back from each other which is very bad because the AI does not stop when it is close to either of the edges of the arena and thus can get a free hit on you. There also seems to be a way to do enormous damage and to knock your opponent down when countering certain moves with certain other moves but I never figured it out. To win the game, one must alternate training and fights, as winning fights or training improves stamina, strength and resistance, but training is most effective after a fight. If you try to boost your stats by doing multiple training sessions in a row your each consecutive training will be less effective. Losing a fight reduces your fighter's parameters.

Batman: Return of the Joker, known in Japan as Dynamite Batman, is the follow-up to Sunsoft's first Batman game on the Nintendo Entertainment System. This is a remake of Return of the Joker, titled Batman: Revenge of the Joker, was released on the Sega Genesis by Ringler Studios in 1992. The story begins with the Joker escaping from an insane asylum, and through various henchmen, tries to send Gotham City into chaos. Batman must survive several side-scrolling levels with various tricky jumps, and defeat a multitude of enemies and bosses to ensure that Gotham is safe. Batman is armed with a utility belt that allows him to collect various types of icons throughout the stages in order to shoot different types of batarangs and projectiles. Batman is one of my favorite heroes of comics. Honestly the NES version is better. The Mega Drive had much more to offer in terms of hardware. Not to mention that no items to recharge life in this game, which makes it all very difficult.

Sega Rally Championship Plus is the second release of the Sega Rally Saturn game, released in 1996 in Japan with the addition of Xband support. With the game having spent a few more months in development, it also features some bug fixes and a few graphical updates over the original version of the game, including more obvious support for the 3D game pad.
All that said, comparing the two games. I can not see any visual differences so if there are any you may need to point them out to me. When compairing against the previous longplay, I only noticed that a second set of credits are not played in the original version of the game. The game is quite difficult as the controls are quite sensitive with the effect of massive oversteer on a light button press. The ai cars are quite tough and not easily knocked around. The replays are quite funny in that your car is drifting/slipping/sliding around every corner and the ai cars look like they are on a fixed scalextric type track with no issues with speed/traction around corners. There is one corner on the mountain track that is very tight and the ai car even ends up taking it at speed without issue on two wheels!. The game is quite short once you have mastered it and only really offers time trials after that if you really want to keep pushing your lap times.
00:00:00 - All 4 tracks of the Arcade championship played through with the Toyota Celica CT-Four. Afterwards the full credits are shown. This seems to be only time you will get to see the credits as the game will no longer show them if you complete championship again. Completing this mode unlocks the Lakeside track in Practice and Time trial modes. Before moving on I show the full championship replay.
00:18:23 - I play through the Arcade Championship again, this time with the unlocked Lancia Stratos HF. This car is fast at the expense of handling like a shopping trolley. I also enable Hard difficulty as this car makes Normal quite easy. I also show an additional audio track and place it onto the desert track. After completing I show the full championship replay. At this point, I noticed there is no leaderboard when using the Stratos.
00:32:55 - A third run through the Arcade championship with the Lancia Delta HF Integrale. I put difficulty back to normal as I don't think the Toyaota or Lancia Delta can make it through hard. This Time I Hold X while Pressing C to start. This gives me improved car stats and is often referred to as the Hyper Car on cheat sites. I couldn't really tell though while playing if the car was really any better though. Corners were much easier to take at speed with this car though due to its size advantage. Completing with this setup also adds you to the 'Special' Ranking list so as not to interfere with legit times. Again I show a full championship replay for ...reasons.
I end the video with a quick look at the rankings board just to show how the times are separated and that the Stratos times are only recorded in Time trial mode.

Sky Target is a 1995 Arcade game ported to the Saturn and released in 1997. It shares some similarities with Afterburner (it features planes and lock on missiles!) but it lacks the speed and kick ass soundtracks of the afterburner games.
Anyway, I play through ranked mode first. There are 12 levels each with a mission briefing although they are all the same really. Shoot everything!! After each mission you are awarded stars. If you manage to collect them all (or at least 58 of 60) you unlock the XF/A-49 White Sword!!. I take each of the initial 4 planes though the missions to show them all. I have no idea if there is a preferred/recommended plane for each of the 4 mission arcs. I then take the unlocked White Sword plane through arcade mode. Its Vulcan cannon is more like a laser and does mega damage and makes short work of anything in its path.
Arcade mode takes you through 6 missions, but there are branches to choose which dictate what missions you will see. You do get credits in this mode which allow you to continue from where you died. The difficulty is hard to explain in this game. Apart from some sections where homing missiles are coming at you, you don't have to move around much and in some levels you can not move at all and still get through without taking a hit. It can be really difficult to see the missiles coming at you and often look like they pass right through you without causing damage.

First I played through both courses on default mode, without any secret codes of any kind, then I show off both penguin and the mirrored versions of the tracks at the same time. The player uses a handlebar controller to move a skier down a course situated on a snow-covered mountain, the objective being to make it to the end of the course without falling off the slope or colliding with obstacles. It features three different courses to select, alongside a standard race mode and a time-attack mode where the player must pass through gates to replenish a time limit.
