Flodder was a big blockbuster hit out here in the Netherlands back in 1986. The film is made in the Netherlands and is set in a Dutch neighbourhood. What happens when an anti-social family comes to live in a posh neighbourhood?
GarbAugust is a reading event dedicated to pulp fiction and trashy non-fiction. There are prompts, but they are definitely not a must. You can also just read one trashy (story just written for entertainment) story (novel or short story). You can also watch a trashy film if you prefer.

In 1960 Henry Farrell was strapped for cash so he decided to write a story so absurd that it had to be commercial and was thus more likely to become a bestseller. So he wrote the legendary novel 'What Ever Happened To Baby Jane?' And indeed this novel was a commercial success. In 1962 Joan Crawford persuaded the film studio and director Robert Aldrich to make a film of the story and suggesting Bette Davis to play the psycho biddy Baby Jane. In this video I'll talk about the novel Farrell wrote, the legendary film and ageing actresses.
Be sure to watch Bad's review @badrad9226

For my first chapter project, I will read every first chapter before deciding whether to keep a novel in my collection or not. In this video, I've read the first chapter of the novel All the Colors of Darkness, which is a science fiction novel by Lloyd Biggle, Jr.
I own this 1963 Paperback Library Edition of this pulpy science fiction novel.

This Bantam Books pulp novel edition of Flicker piques my interest, as I'm always interested in fiction that is about the film industry or films in general. But this novel has another element that interests me and that is some sort of detective as well.
For my pulp novel blurb bonanza project, I will take a closer look at the blurb text of these fun pulp novels.

First things first... I don't consider Ernest Hemingway to be a pulp writer, but there were pulp novel editions published of his novels, like so many classics were published in pulp novel format. And these pulp novel editions often have sensational promotions and descriptions on the back cover. So I think it's fun to take a closer look at this.
For my pulp novel blurb bonanza project, I will take a closer look at the blurb text of these fun pulp novels.
