Exploring Abandoned Chicago High School with Power On! (Used for POLICE Training!) Free4All 2024-06-09 | In this weeks exploration we're in Chicago, Illinois exploring the now demolished, Near North Career Metropolitan High School. 2000-01 was the last gradating class for near north with a senior class of only 132. Jones College Prep used the school for a couple of years while their school was getting renovated/ completed. They continued to use the gym through 2015 for athletics. The Chicago Fire and Police department used the school from 2006 until 2019 for training. Months after the building was finally vacant, explorers and graffiti artists started finding their way in. The creator, Bob Cassilly, was found dead on the property back in 2011 and the death was mysterious with many thinking it was a murder. This place is truly amazing and it is such a shame that Bob's dream to finish this place will never happen. This place has got to be up there in the top 3 scariest we have seen. Literal zombies walking around in the streets, people shooting up everywhere, drug dealers openly selling knowing they're destroying lives. This is a sad situation, but people come to this place for this exact reason. They know they can buy cheap and shoot up in the open without fear of arrest. I don't know the answer to fixing this problem, but I was inspired to share this after seeing the famous scene from Roger & Me where they drive through Flint, MI. After doing more research I discovered this is the Largest Open Air Drug Market on the East Coast and maybe even the whole U.S."At the corner of Kensington and Allegheny Avenues is the largest open-air drug market on the East Coast — if not the nation.
