Here it was hard getting the choir to sing "Ghetsis" instead of "Denis" 😅. That changed though... once they felt his presence 😬‣ Artwork: Carlo Romero instagram.com/carloromeroart‣ Original Composition: Go Ichinose (Pokémon Black & White)One of the coolest things about this theme is how it builds upon the tritone interval (aka the "devil's interval") using G and C#, pronounced "Geh" and "Tsis" in German (I wonder if they got inspired in Wagner's Tristan und Isolde coming up with the concept?). This dissonant interval alone gives a strong sense of tension and unease... perfect for the most evil character in the franchise. Genius!Still, in the original I always feel there's a lack of more tonal elements and a stronger sense of progression. So while making my take I couldn't resist but expand on these elements, hopefully still staying true to the unsettling atmosphere that makes Ghetsis so intimidatingNext up: Cyrus

But after hearing SaraSandwich's cover with those wonderful vocals I was all-in. I thought it would be a great theme to do an EDM remix, so I contacted SaraSandwich to see if I could use her vocals and here we are. I have many summer memories with Pokémon Go, so let this remix also serve as a small homage to the game that brought world piece for a few months and a nice farewell to summer (and yup, this remix also served to get me hooked to pokémon go again 😆)It took me a bit longer to finish than I would have liked, but on the other hand I think this extra time has really helped me level up as a producer and get the mix & master to commercial EDM standards. Mining Melancholy (Remix) | Donkey Kong Country 2 Alter Loy 2023-06-02 | This week I continue remixing Donkey Kong Country's 2 soundtrack bringing another masterpiece by David Wise 🙏I actually started remixing it as a chill lofi beat, but in the process the remix naturally called for a more synthwave direction. so now i dont really know where it falls in and how to categorize it, let's just say it is a vibe 😆. in any case, i hope to have captured the original intent of the song. the whole remixing process made me appreciate even more the magic david wise did with the limitations of the SNES. West Province (Lofi Remix) | Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Alter Loy 2023-05-12 | I really like the chill vibes of the West Province's "walking" version (without the saul goodman meme part :P). Then I got into remixing it and i felt that after the beginning it was lacking a melody... and the riding version does have a catchy melody, but i dont like the vibes of the riding version so much. So then it clicked! i would bring the definitive edition of west's province theme by merging the best of both versions remixed into a chill beat! a completely objective opinion hahah, but i really like the final resulta bit of trivia: most people notice the celt influence in the west's province riding theme, but did you know that the west-north of the iberian peninsula (i mean, paldea) was populated by the celts for many centuries?
