Quick Comparison with Olympus Micro Four Thirds vs Full Frame Sensor. Wildlife Inspired w/ Scott Keys 2025-07-25 | *NOTE*While I showed an image of sharpness, this was more around the concept that a 150 2.8 on a Micro Four Thirds (MFT) sensor will not appear the same as a 300 2.8 on a full-frame. To be fair to Olympus, I will DEFINITELY conduct a much more accurate comparison using the 100-400 f/4.5 vs the Nikon 800mm f/6.3 at a more comparable price point.This was a quick, fun comparison, I actually did for a friend to show the differences and decided to upload a version to YouTube,In this video, I compared a high-end Olympus camera body with a full-frame Nikon camera body. The main goal was to assess how a 150mm lens on the Olympus system, which offers a 300mm equivalent field of view, stacks up against a 300mm lens on a Nikon full-frame camera.For this comparison, I used the Olympus 150mm f/2.8 lens and the Nikon 300mm f/2.8 lens.The purpose of this comparison is to visually demonstrate that the 150mm lens on the Olympus, with its 2x crop factor, does not equate to a 300mm lens on a full-frame body in terms of image quality.While the Olympus system has numerous advantages, such as affordability and lighter weight, this comparison highlights that it generally cannot compete with the image quality produced by a good full-frame sensor.This is not meant to speak negatively about either system; it is simply a real-world example, and I encourage you to let the images speak for themselves.

Quick Thoughts on Curious Owls. Cool Encounters or Concerning Behavior? Wildlife Inspired w/ Scott Keys 2025-02-21 | In this video, I talk about owls and give some thoughts about conditioning subjects to humans.*I know it’s irruption and not eruption! I lost my proof reader and I’m half dyslexic. Currently accepting applications the job which includes no pay and just loyal friendship.Since recording this, I saw 2 more stories of this exactly behavior and after contacting one of the individuals, they believed a couple of these encounters were indeed with the same owl, who has become more popular and may be using the tripods as hunting perches as they provide a place to perch in a fairly open field. There is no proof that this bird was treated unethically and certainly none of the photographers involved in these recent incidents did anything “wrong.” Certainly a cool encounter and cool experience, just makes me question things when wild behavior stops being wild.
