In this video, I walk through steps involved in performing an exploratory factor analysis using Stata. I begin with a review of how to determine factorability of a correlation matrix; then I proceed to demonstration of strategies for determining the number of factors that may account for the interrelationships among your measured variables; following we force a solution with the number of factors identified in the previous step and interpret rotated loadings. Throughout the presentation, I demonstrate steps by writing syntax into a Do-File in the hopes that you consider this approach in the future, particularly when carrying out more complex analyses.
