Andrew Porter was a captain of marines in the Revolutionary War, later a Brigadier General in the Pennsylvania militia, Surveyor General of Pennsylvania and Great Grandfather to Mary Todd Lincoln. His son David Rittenhouse Porter was a noted ironmaster and 9th governor of Pennsylvania.Son George Bryan Porter was appointed governor of Michigan Territory by Andrew Jackson. Youngest Porter son James Madison Porter was a colonel during the War of 1812, railroad president, founder of Lafayette College in Easton and Secretary of War under President Tyler.In 1821 after the decease of General Porter and his widow the house and property were the residence of the Andrew Knox family. Mr. Knox was a former shipping merchant from Savannah, Georgia who farmed the land until the acquisition of the estate by his son Col. Thomas P. Knox.Thomas Knox was an advisor to the governor of the commonwealth and president of the state agricultural society. Col. Knox expanded the acreage of the holdings by purchasing surrounding farms. It was Thomas Knox who in 1853 had 44 acres of the land divided into lots and sold precipitating the development of the west end of town. It was also he who added the beautiful ornate portico and balcony to the front of the house resulting in the familiar plantation look to the structure which lasted for over 150 years.After the passing of Thomas Knox in 1879 the residence and remaining property went to his daughter Ellen and her husband Joseph Fornance. Fornance was a prominent lawyer and president of the Historical Society of Montgomery County. Fornance sold an additional 22 acres of the property in 1902 resulting in further development. After the death of Joseph and Ellen Fornance in the late 1920s the Selma Mansion and surviving couple of acres around it were the home of their son Major Joseph Knox Fornance and his wife Ruth Ryder Fornance.Major Fornance was active during WWI and later president of the Montgomery County Bar Association. We tried a mixture of things tonight, mainly focusing on vocal or audio signs of the afterlife. We did a portal session, single and double Estes sessions, REM POD activity occurred, and it is very possible we all saw the SPIRIT of a little kid.This building became a Sanitarium in 1906, and took pride in providing a well-comfortable, homelike, atmosphere to the patients residing. The Sanitarium did not take patients who carried infectious and/or contagious diseases. Although, in 1923, Doctor J.H. Henderson, and Doctor C.W. Perry had no choice... they were forced to become a tuberculosis clinic to help serve the town of Salamanca. OVERNIGHT in HAUNTED Civil War House | SCARY Spirit Activity Hauntings With Hodge 2023-03-03 | The house we are in tonight dates back to a time BEFORE the Civil War. Lockhouse 25 was built in 1830, but no one seems to know who exactly lived here. Once the Civil War erupted, both the Union and Confederate's laid eyes on this place, taking turns defending it, or scouting it out. No bloodshed from the war was spilled here, but that doesn't seem to stop some of the soldiers from checking in on a visit, even in the afterlife. Besides it's normal history of being a "lockhouse", there are reports of two spirits who reside here dominantly. One is said to be that of a little girl, who's name is unknown, and connection to the place is unknown. Childs Trapped Spirit Didnt Want Me Here! | Samuel Miller Mansion Hauntings With Hodge 2022-12-19 | Tonight's episode is sort of different. This is not a full overview of our investigation at the Samuel Miller Mansion, but it is the most memorable part of our night. Evidence this night was scarce, so I saved you the time of watching next to nothing, to what I believe was genuine paranormal evidence caught on camera!The building owner, Amy, told us through her abilities as a medium that there is a spirit of a little girl trapped in the attic space of the mansion. Her name is Abigail, and she sadly passed away in the cubby space shown in the video from starvation. Her father, George, locked her in there, and exposed her to abuse and neglect. Perhaps the interaction we had in the video is Abigail reaching out to us for help, or to keep me away, perhaps not liking males such as myself. Another theory I have is that her suffering and sorrow is trapped in the room here, posing as a sort of residual energy. Things such as disease, abuse, neglect, torture, and cruel labor occurred here without anyone batting an eye. The prison got bigger, concrete, and sandstone material turning it into a mega-complex... straight from Hell. This place was known as the "End of the Line", because once you were here, chances are, you weren't leaving... alive, at least. This place held some notorious criminals as well; most infamous was James Earl Ray, the accused/convicted assassin of Martin Luther King Jr.The racial tension inside Brushy was through the roof, and a lot of horrible acts were done because of the very ideology. Myself, at least, investigated inside of the gymnasium, where a prison break was foiled in it's very early stages. The Hole, a plot I'd consider a modern day torture chamber, where prisoners were suspended from the ceiling by their thumbs on pullies, and were forced to stay down there for so long they even went blind. And even the part of the prison where myself and Ryan were told to leave by a spirit. For sixty years this facility served as a fifty bed Hospital. It is complete with an emergency room, radiology department, cafeteria, and lab, all located in the basement. The ICU was located on the first floor. On the second floor was obstetrics. The medical and surgical rooms are on the third floor, and to top things off is a pharmacy on the fourth floor. Later on, the emergency room was moved to the first floor. The building was sold to the Hospital Managements Association Inc. in 1979, where it remained in use as a hospital until 1988. Afterwards, for twenty-six years, up until 2014, the building was renovated and used as physician's offices.The residents of the town have reported numerous times of lights turning on, people in the windows, shadow figures and even smoke coming out of the top of the Hospital. Multiple nurse apparitions have been seen, even while the building was up and running. Also, on January 23rd, 1956, a train by the name of "The Pocahontas" derailed. This HAUNTED HOUSE Made Me CRY | The Bellaire House (12 HOUR LIVESTREAM) Hauntings With Hodge 2022-04-17 | Join myself and the team of Paranormal Search as we conduct a paranormal investigation LIVE from the infamous Bellaire House in Bellaire, Ohio! We will be bringing you several straight hours of this home, LIVE for you to see it all go down in real time!To kick things off, the land the Bellaire House rests on is the same land the French and Indian War took place on from 1754 to 1763. Alongside that, the house sits on a ley line, which allows a constant surge of paranormal energy to travel in and out of the home. After the war, in 1893, a coal mine explosion occurred and 42 men were killed in the accident. That incident happened 46 years after the Bellaire House was built though. Jacob Davis was the founder of the town of Bellaire, naming it after his mother's hometown in Maryland, Bel Air. The man who owned all the coal mines in Ohio Valley was Jacob Heatherington. Eliza Armstrong met Jacob Heatherington and instantly fell in love with him after seeing a shooting star right before, which supposedly has ties to being a bad omen. The coal mines were to be abandoned in March of 1893 since there were no signs of stopping the fires. Unfortunately for the Bellaire House, the coal mine that killed those 42 men rests underneath the cursed home.When the home was built in 1847, it was constructed in the vicinity of sacred Shawnee Native American burial caves! The Natives in the area practiced magic and held ceremonies nearby, and buried their highest ranking people in the caves; such as chieftains, shamans, and witchdoctors. All of these tragic happenings of war and death left the soils of the town of Bellaire riddled with residual energy!When Jacob Heatherington passed away, he left the coal mines to his son, Alex Heatherington. Overtime, Alex became mentally ill and was locked away in a lunatic asylum, therefore Alex's daughter, Lyde, took over the coal mines entirely. Surrounded By Spirits At Haunted Pennhurst Asylum | Pennhurst State School and Hospital Hauntings With Hodge 2022-02-01 | Pennhurst State School and Hospital, known famously as "Pennhurst Asylum" was originally known as the Eastern Pennsylvania Institution for the Feeble-Minded and Epileptic, and was constructed between 1903 to 1908. On November 23rd, 1908 "Patient Number 1" was admitted into Pennhurst. This idea to house all sorts of people, including immigrants, orphans, criminals, and more led to serious overcrowding very quickly. In 1968, Bill Baldini, a local CBS correspondant filmed a five-part news report titled "Suffer The Little Children", exposing the state of Pennhurst and it's ways to the public, abroad. Nineteen years later after various cases are tried, Pennhurst closes in 1987. Horrible things happened within the walls we are about to walk...I started filming paranormal videos in September 2021, and if you told me that I'd be filming at Pennhurst only 3 months later I would have said "nah, no way! not yet!" , but here we are!
