After spending 72 hours with Apple’s brand new $599 MacBook Neo, I have to say the hype is mostly real. The performance and optimization you get from the A18 Pro chip at this price point genuinely reminds me of the original M1 MacBook Air moment where Apple reset expectations for what a laptop could do.

But after using the MacBook Neo as my main laptop for a few days, some real limitations started to show up.

In this video we talk about the good, the hype, and the reality of this new MacBook. Things like the impressive Apple silicon optimization, the incredible value at $599, and why it feels so fast in everyday use. But we also dive into the tradeoffs including 8GB of RAM limits, slower internal storage, battery life depending on the apps you use, and some hardware compromises that help Apple reach this price point.

The MacBook Neo is an amazing laptop for the right person, but it’s important to understand who this machine is actually for before buying one.
