Paper burning in celebration of Zhōng-yuán-jié (中元節) is on the rise in recent years in North Chinese city of Beijing. Prior to the burning, people tend to first draw on the ground a circle with an opening. Location-wise, people tend to do the burning on the side of a main road, at a crossroad or under a bridge. Paper used for burning usually have items like banknotes, vehicles, houses and groceries, printed on them. Participants of paper burning believe that by burning those paper sheets, they can sent the items printed on them to their deceased relatives.
⚠️ Since the idea behind paper burning is at odds with Catholicism, Catholics in Beijing are prohibited by local Diocese from partaking in such activity.

In this episode, I would point out only one key difference that fundamentally differentiates Catholicism from all other denominations and communities that claim to be Christian. This difference is that only the Christ in Catholicism is the actual, objectively existing Christ, but the Christ in other denominations, either Protestantism or the so-called “Eastern Orthodoxy”, is a subjectively produced image or understanding of Christ Jesus.
