The Selaron Steps are a must-see destination when visiting Rio de Janeiro. Named after Jorge Selarón, a Chilean-born Brazilian painter and ceramist, the steps are perhaps his most famous work, known as the 'Escadaria Selarón' or Selaron Steps. Made up of more than 2,000 tiles sourced from around the world, this iconic staircase is a vibrant and mesmerizing piece of art. This world-famous set of ceramic tile-covered stairs and surrounding walls is located in the Lapa and Santa Teresa neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
