The violence needs to stop. Ender Rydel 2020-06-03 | In light of the unrest going on in our country I felt inspired to make this video. I am not a content creator. I am by no means a prominent figure in the social media community. And I realize that as a white male, some may feel I have no right to inject my own thoughts and opinions on this matter. However the unrest and injustice occurring in our country right now affects ALL of us. And in order for us to root out the horrible racism and prejudice occurring in our country on a daily basis we ALL need to learn to treat one another with the same understanding and respect we ourselves wish to be treated with.To my fellow Americans, both black and non-black. You have every right to be angry. You have every right to try and take a stand against this injustice. But please also realize that going out with the intent of lashing out and causing harm to others is not the correct way to make your message known. Innocent people are being hurt. People who are just trying to go about their everyday lives, living the best lives they can. I have always lived my life under the philosophy of treating others with the selfsame respect I myself would like to be treated with. I am a firm believer in the fact that if you treat someone nicely they will be more likely to do the same for you. The fact that there are people in our country today who are constantly being oppressed and treated with such prejudice is something that deeply saddens me. The fact that these people feel they have no other option but to act out in a violent and destructive manner to make their message heard also saddens me.I am a white american male. And I am extremely ashamed of my race's treatment of our fellow human beings. It sickens me to think that my ancestors have been contributing to these horrible injustices for over 200 years. I cannot fix or change what happened in the past. But I can try and stand with you against the injustice. I can try and treat my fellow human beings with respect. I can actively try to not let my thoughts and actions be influenced by stereotyping and racism. I am not perfect. I will make mistakes. But I will continue to try to better myself and my society as a whole. I hope everyone else can do the same.
