Our Enlighten 2024 illuminations use the Library’s remarkable and ever-growing pictures collection to represent diverse connections to place and Country. They tell stories of migration, multiculturalism, sadness, joy and courage. They invite audiences to reflect on arrivals, departures, and constants. Leaving ‘home’. Coming ‘home’. Being ‘home’.
The piece is framed by beautiful night sky images by artist Dr Judith Nangala Crispin who was a Creative Arts Fellow at the Library in 2021.
The images are supported by a soundscape that showcases voices from our Oral History and Folklore Collection.
