By the way, my name is Martin.
In this video I go for a brilliant hike into an area of Parc del Garraf I've not been before, with superb panoramic views. To the North, over to Castellet and Panta de Foix, a large Reservoir that sits below that beautiful town and beyond, way past Vilafranca and the mountains of Igualada. To the south east, the views can be seen as far as Montseny and the pre-Pyrenees and south west all the way down the coastline towards Tarragona and beyond. It's a magnificent hike which reaches some of the highest points in the parc.
An early encounter with a glue sniffer, stood right in the middle of the narrow path I was walking, was a slight concern but he was so out of it, I just went past him without any issue but still an unpleasant experience having to be on guard for any sudden action I may have to take. I noticed him again a few minutes later when I stopped to get my bearings but he was far enough away not to be any trouble, and I never seen him again after that.
I continued with my hike, taking in the hot, spring sunshine but also the very windy conditions, especially at the highest points with gusts of 60 or 70kmph. I had never been to this part of the parc before and it's an area I will be discovering even more as it has some incredible views and some intriguing smaller paths to check out next time. Possibly even a couple of sneaky wild camp spots!
