Ariel Posen’s music occupies the space between genres. It’s a rootsy sound that nods to his influences – heartland rock & roll, electrified Americana, blue-eyed soul, R&B, Beatles-inspired pop – while still moving forward, pushing Posen into territory that’s uniquely his own.
Along the way, Posen has received standing ovations not only from his audience, but also from outlets like Rolling Stone, who dubbed him “a modern-day guitar hero”. Music Radar listing him as a fan voted top 10 rock guitarist of the year and the Western Canadian Music Awards who nominated him for Breakout Artist of the Year in 2020 and 2021, as well as Rock Artist of The Year and Recording of The Year in 2022.

About The Immediate Family
The Immediate Family (the modern iteration of a legendary studio ensemble known as “The Section”) is a rock and roll band composed of four of the most recorded, respected, and sought-after players in modern music: Danny Kortchmar (guitar and vocals), Waddy Wachtel (guitar and vocals), Leland Sklar (bass), Russ Kunkel (drums) and the addition of prominent touring, session guitarist and songwriter Steve Postell (guitar and vocals). Frequent collaborators both in the studio and on-stage, their work can be heard on albums from Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks, Keith Richards, Warren Zevon, Graham Nash, Neil Young, David Crosby, and many, many, many more. Kortchmar, Sklar, and Kunkel have worked together since the early 70s and made up three-quarters of The Section, best known for both their studio and live work in support of some of the top-selling singer/songwriters and solo singers in the history of music, as well as their own acclaimed instrumental albums. (By the mid-70s, they were later joined by Wachtel). Collectively, these musicians helped define the sound of a generation. immediatefamilyband.com

South Windsor, CT, December 2022 -- The legendary Bernard Purdie recently visited TELEFUNKEN Soundstage in South Windsor, CT to participate in a tribute concert in his honor. The event was produced by Friedman, Kannenberg & Company, P.C., whom previously brought The Immediate Family to TELEFUNKEN for a similar fundraiser, with all net proceeds for both events being donated to The Asperger/Autism Network (aane.org).
Bernard “Pretty” Purdie, world’s most recorded drummer, has worked with some of the greatest artists in history, including James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespie, Wilson Picket, and Steely Dan, to name a few. His unique style is so often imitated, that he even has a groove named after him: “The Purdie Shuffle.” This beat can be cleary heard on classic tracks like Steely Dan’s “Home At Last” from the iconic album Aja.
Purdie’s performance and concert were filmed and recorded live in high-resolution audio and video at TELEFUNKEN’s purpose-built microphone testing stage and laboratory. TELEFUNKEN had the exclusive unique opportunity to have Purdie break down his famous “Purdie Shuffle” groove, while capturing the performance exclusively with TELEFUNKEN microphones. In this video, Purdie gives a beat-by-beat explanation and demonstration of his famous shuffle, breaking down the independent parts and offering a fresh take on his funked-up creations.
TELEFUNKEN mics featured on this exclusive session include: The M82 on kick and M80-SH on snare from the Dynamic Series., The TF51 on toms, TF47 outside kick, and TF39 Copperhead Deluxe on center kit from the Alchemy Series., the M60 on cymbals and snare, and the ELA M 260 in a Decca Tree configuration from the SDC Series, with a pair of C12s on overheads and a pair of ELA M 251E as room mics from TELEFUNKEN’S Diamond Series.

South Windsor, CT, October 2021 – Alt Rock favorites Toad The Wet Sprocket dropped in at TELEFUNKEN headquarters in Connecticut during their recent tour. The band filmed three songs for the company’s “Live From The Lab” series and tried out TELEFUNKEN’s new 2022 TEC Award-nominated TF11 FET condenser mics on guitars, in addition to performing with their stock of M80 dynamic mics for vocals.
Founder, lead singer and multi-instrumentalist Glen Philips commented on the M80 vocal mics, “Our soundman has been switching me from mic to mic over the last few years, trying out some of the top brands in the market, but this year he brought out the M80 and we’re loving it – it’s totally responsive to my mic technique and he’s been using a fraction of the EQ he used to use. It’s a great mic, really clear in my ear, and he likes the bleed better when I step away.”
The band’s FOH engineer John Edman explained, “I’ve been working with Toad The Wet Sprocket and Glen Phillips for the last 5 years and this year I introduced the M80 for Glen to try out at rehearsals for the current tour we’re on and I received positive feedback from Glen. For starters, I didn’t need to EQ like before and I also found that the bottom was natural sounding and smoother with less of a proximity rise. The M80s off axis leakage sounded very natural, as if the mic had an omni quality to it without it being omni. A great mic for a great voice.”
Toad the Wet Sprocket has just wrapped up a US headline tour, in support of their new studio album Starting Now, and will be on tour again through 2022.

People Like Us is a collection of internationally celebrated musicians from a myriad of musical genres, all with the collective goal of celebrating the artistry and beauty of Ireland’s native music. The group was first introduced to one another while touring with the first national tour of the smash broadway hit COME FROM AWAY (NY Times Critic’s Pick). Throughout their time with the show, People Like Us often played double duty throughout their eight show weeks, performing in pubs and recording studios throughout the North American continent after the curtain drew for the Broadway show’s evening and matinee performances.
People Like Us features mandolin player Martin Howley (We Banjo 3, 7 Time "All Ireland" Champion), fiddler Kiana June (Carlos Núñez, Gaelic Storm), Irish flute player and uilleann piper Isaac Alderson (3 Time All Ireland Champion, Eileen Ivers, The Yanks, Ensemble Galilei) and bodhrán player Steve Holloway (Riverdance, Solas, Seamus Egan). Rounding out the rhythm section with LA Drummer Ben Morrow, bassist Sean Rubin (Touring member of Bronze Radio Return) and guitarist BIlly Bivona (World Soul) results in a huge sound that is both traditionally leaning yet progressive in scope.
Be on the lookout for People Like Us at a festival or session near you!

Hayley Reardon – acoustic guitar, vocals
Pau Figueres – Spanish guitar
Aniol Bestit – audio mix
Hayley Reardon is a critically acclaimed folk pop artist and a storyteller in the truest sense of the word. Her songs serve as postcards from an artist brave enough to take the road less traveled. The songstress made the decision to begin living life boldly when she left Nashville to tour the world playing her music. In addition to having recently been based in Dachau, Germany for a six month artist residency program awarded by the city, she has spent the past 5 years carrying her songs and guitar all over the globe -- gathering experiences, inspirations, and soulful connections along the way. The artist masterfully channels her colorful stories through music, capturing even the most subtle nuances of the human experience with a striking clarity.
Blending Flamenco guitar with the music of our century. Pau Figueres is an outstanding guitarist who tackles music from multiple interpretative angles using different concepts, understanding and studying the guitar as a versatile cross-over instrument. Both a brilliant performer of his own music and a highly requested sideman, sessionist and producer, he’s immersed in countless musical genres, styles and projects. His original compositions mirror his unique approach to the guitar and to music.
