The site dates to the 19th to 17th centuries BC. That's Abraham's century.Genesis 14 tells us a priest-king named Melchizedek walked out of a city on a hill, offered Abraham bread and wine, and blessed him in the name of El Elyon, God Most High. Abraham gave him a tithe of everything.
