They admire the fruit—love for neighbor, human dignity, compassion, justice—but reject the root: the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. But here’s the problem: you can’t have the apples if you cut down the tree. You can’t sever truth from the Person who defines it and expect the culture to hold.
Cultural Christianity is appealing because it offers a moral framework without submission. But without the root, the fruit will wither.
