Investigating Southaven Park UFO Crash | # 3 Arnett Files 2026-08-17 | In this episode, Arnett Files (#3) investigates the Southaven Park, Long Island,UFO crash of 1992. Here are the details:On November 24, 1992, around 7 p.m., people near Southaven Park in Shirley, Long Island, reportedly saw something unusual descend toward the wooded area. The central witness account, collected by the Long Island UFO Network (LIUFON), described a roughly tubular, dull-metallic object with blue lights at either end and a bright white light in the middle. It allegedly made a sharp turn over Sunrise Highway and disappeared into the park, followed by an extremely bright flash. Other residents reported a loud rumble, strange lights and, afterward, a fire in the woods.There is an interesting piece of corroborating context: the Brookhaven Fire Department's own historical chronology says that on November 24, 1992, newspapers reported that the department responded to a supposed "crash of an alien spaceship" in Southaven Park at about 7 p.m.John Ford, chairman of LIUFON, said his group investigated for roughly six months. When investigators eventually got into the park, Ford claimed they found:- an area of burned vegetation;- trees bent or knocked over;- an area that appeared to have been disturbed by machinery;- unusually high radiation readings;- a section of metal fence where, according to Ford, the investigators detected no magnetic field.LIUFON also claimed to have obtained photographs and videotape of the supposed recovery. Researchers and later witnesses have alleged that Brookhaven National Laboratory personnel were involved in recovering whatever came down. The theory is based partly on the claim that the Brookhaven laboratory's federally controlled fire department handled the fire, while local firefighters supposedly were turned away. A major chemical emergency began on May 21, 2026, at a GKN Aerospace facility in Garden Grove after a storage tank containing methyl methacrylate (MMA) overheated and began venting hazardous vapors.
