On 10/7 from 9am-1pm Matthew Golombisky hops into town to compose and rehearse new music based on the unique experiences and instrumentation of the participants! Tomorrow Music Orchestra - Denton House Concert Institute for Creative Music 2022-09-22 | A collaboration of new sounds, including your own! Instrumentalists, vocalists, audience participants, please join us for a house concert of experimental new music and words. Collectively learn and play original compositions to create a new incarnation of Tomorrow Music Orchestra; combining elements of jazz, classical, experimental music, poetry, and more… The pieces include performance roles for the audience regardless of musical ability and experience (but you can also just listen and observe).Tomorrow Music Orchestra started in 2005 in New Orleans where bassist/composer/conductor Matthew Golombisky organized an ad hoc musician collective to embark on something unique and special. As a result of Hurricane Katrina, the group’s core members relocated to Chicago and increased its membership and focus. Amassing an incredibly large and musically diverse membership of 30+ musicians, TMO debuted entirely new music at each performance and often included live art creation and projection. In addition to releasing two albums on ears&eyes Records (Live @ Ice Factory and neon jesus garage), the group appeared on several recordings as a studio ensemble. In 2012 Golombisky joined the Institute for Creative Music cohort of musicians including Chris and Kim Teal and presented several community concerts in Rochester, NY to reinvigorate the group and include even more members, namely the audience.For this house concert (presented by the Institute for Creative Music), Kim Teal will take over the role of “conductioner” since Matthew lives in North Carolina. Assuredly unique and adventurous, we hope to see you at the first Denton version of the Tomorrow Music Orchestra!The IfCM Collective (Nick Finzer, Grace Frarey, Bailey Ehrgott, August Bish, Chris Teal) will open the afternoon experience with a short performance of modern, experimental jazz. This event will take place in a family residence and feature live music and curated food and beverages. Kids of all ages are welcome and please RSVP as we have limited space.
