The final blowdown event at Eggborough Power Station, which saw the demolition of the unique square-profiled chimney and the remaining half of the boiler hall. A series of controlled explosions just after 10am on Sunday 24 July brought the two structures crashing down to earth in a cloud of dust, and brought the site's near-60 year association with electricity generation to an end.
