I wanted to show you how to sound like Van Halen using solely technique, to dispel the mindset that Eddie Van Halen's sound was all about the gear. Gear is obviously important but not the most integral to getting the sound. Eddie sounded like himself despite constantly changing his setup over the years. Save your money and learn some of these little tips and tricks. I tried to come up with the simplest explanations for these techniques and tricks. It's very hard to describe things like 'feel' and 'attack' when you're not in the room with me. I hope this tutorial helps some of you.
