EcoFlow has launched the new Stream Series, bringing some major upgrades to its plug-in solar and home energy storage systems.
I was invited to the international launch event and then headed to Intersolar to get a closer look at the new Stream 3000 and Stream 5000 systems.
The new generation brings increased battery capacity, up to 5,000W of solar input, higher inverter power, a new gateway, improved thermal performance, an all-aluminium enclosure, stackable battery expansion and a much simpler app.
I also managed to speak with one of EcoFlow's product managers about backward compatibility, the new gateway, battery expansion, EV charging controls and how the new system achieves 5,000W of solar input.
But there are some interesting questions too. How useful is a 45kWh system for a typical home? What does the 3,000W grid-tied output mean for UK users? And is vertical stacking really the best approach?
I'll be trying to get my hands on one of these systems for some proper real-world testing and a comparison with the previous-generation EcoFlow Stream.
