This month leading up to Valentine’s Day, I’ll be sharing 14 stories of “Love Behind the Recipes” ❤️ I thought it would be fun to share the why behind my recipes, what inspired me, and how I created them. To kick it off, Day 1 starts with one of my favorites: chocolate cake! For my 18th birthday, my mom made me the most unforgettable chocolate cake... and then lost the recipe. I spent years chasing that memory, trying to recreate it from scratch. After so many flops and almosts, I finally nailed it and even made it better. This is the cake that went viral and showed up in bakeries and baking competitions around the world. I’ve turned it into bundt cakes, sheet cakes, cupcakes, you name it. But for me, it’ll always be a slice of home and a reminder that love can live in a recipe.
