Narration: The ancient astronomers and philosophers believed that the future of the world is written in the stars. They believed that the past is also inscribed on the blackboard of night by the stars....
It was the belief of these ancient "wise men" that in the beginning when the universe was in its infancy there had been a cataclysmic explosion which tore it asunder, hurling enormous molten bodies all through endless, trackless distances of space.
Could this have been an explosion touched off by a nuclear bomb?
Could there have been a civilization in the distant recesses of time which blasted itself right out of existence through the careless use of power so tremendous that it did not have the sense to compute its enormity?
Are we today on the point of repeating this cosmic suicide?
There are some who fear we are. Not only on this Earth do we fear it, but also on remote planets in the Earth's galaxy.
