Eagle Canyon San Rafael Swell March 2021
This short adventure near Moore Cutoff Road (aka County Road 803) explores the lesser-visited upper reaches of Eagle Canyon located on the southwestern border of Sid's Mountain Wilderness Study Area in Emery County. As described in Steve Allen's book "Canyoneering The San Rafael Swell", lower portions of this canyon are more commonly seen from a viewpoint near I-70 just north of the Devil's Canyon area. The journey of Eagle Canyon was as much an overland trip as a hiking trip. Therefore I included some video from the approach drive. Be sure to close the cattle gate if you find it closed.
