It was so much tougher than we both even planned for and this video will show you all of the challenges we faced when we hiked. If you are considering squeezing in a hike for your Bora Bora vacation then watch this first.Join me on an unforgettable (and slightly painful) journey to the top of Mount Pahia, one of the most iconic peaks on the beautiful island of Bora Bora. What seemed like a peaceful tropical adventure quickly turned into an exhausting test of patience and endurance. From the moment we set foot on the trail, we faced countless challenges that made us question if this hike was worth it.🌡️ Heat & Humidity – The scorching sun and oppressive humidity made every step feel like an uphill battle. The tropical climate is no joke, and it definitely took a toll on us!💦 Mud & Rain – After a few hours in, the weather turned on us. Torrential rain transformed the trail into a slippery, muddy mess. We were slipping and sliding with every step.🐕 Aggressive Dogs – As we ventured further, we encountered some not-so-friendly dogs guarding the trail. Their territorial behavior made us nervous, and we had to tread carefully.🕷️ Wasp Stings – It wasn’t just the physical terrain that challenged us; nature itself had its own surprises. A few unfortunate stings from angry wasps left us with painful reminders of how intense this hike could get.🗺️ Getting Lost – At one point, we completely lost the trail and ended up wandering off course. With little to no signs to guide us, it became a game of trial and error.🛑 Slipping & Falling – The rocky terrain was unforgiving, and the constant slipping made us question whether we’d make it to the summit at all. It was a true test of balance, strength, and willpower.Despite the breathtaking views that awaited at the top, this hike was not for the faint of heart. In hindsight, Mount Pahia is stunning, but it’s definitely not an easy trek. So, if you're considering hiking in Bora Bora, make sure you're prepared for all the unexpected challenges!Proverbs 3:6

It's not easy to get here though...it's off trail through a lot of brush and it require quite a bit of Class 3 scrambling to get up to the viewpoint. But all this work is worth the effort as the views are amazing from here. Mushroom Rock, with its unusual shape and towering presence, is a must-see landmark that will leave you in awe of nature's incredible artistry. This is Bear Canyon...with 3 rappels, this is considered an entry level canyoneering route. I am a heavy guy so this stuff is challenging for me. Although I am slowly getting better this type of stuff challenges my nerves. Bear Canyon offers a real bang for your buck as this gets you deep into a beautiful slot canyon. The dark walls coated in green moss seem to glow giving it a dark otherworldly appearance. Once through the canyon we go through waste deep water in West Clear Creek before climbing straight back up to the truck. Do not attempt this route unless you know what you are doing!Enjoy the video!

BEST Glacier National Park Experience ever! | Highline Trail with Stay at Granite Park Chalet NotLostNomad 2025-02-16 | We did it all on this epic 2 day itinerary in Glacier National Park. We started at Logan Pass where we took off onto the famous Highline Trail. From there we hiked along some amazing cliff faces and had some amazing mountain views. We then did a side hike up to the Garden Wall and climbed up to the Grinnell Glacier Overlook. Next we descended back down and hiked to the Granite Park Chalet fo an overnight stay. Here I walk you through what its like to stay here and give you a complete tour of the place. The next morning we start the day off with a climb up to Swiftcurrent Peak. At the Swiftcurrent overlook we soaked up the amazing summit views and checked out the Fire tower lookout. then we descend back down to the Chalet before hiking down the Loop Trail. Here I was able to catch a ride back up the Iconic Going to the Sun Road back to Logan Pass to complete the loop.This is the best Glacier National Park experience ever and you do not want to miss this! This trail is located just outside of the Chisos Mountains and offers an unexpected oasis out in the dry desert. The trail is reached by a 1.5 mile long road that you will need to walk to get to the trailhead. From there its only 1 mile to get to Cattail Falls. roundtrip you can expect this to be 5 miles in length and the trail is easy. If You Hike Only One Trail DO THIS ONE | Lost Mine Trail | Big Bend National Park NotLostNomad 2024-04-05 | This is the Lost Mine Trail, a true Big Bend Classic. If you are visiting Big Bend National Park and you only have time for one hike then it should probably be this one. This Texas hike is 4.8 miles roundtrip and has about 1,100 feet of elevation gain. This is the easiest way to see the commanding views out over the desert.The trailhead is small and it is very busy in the early morning...so you might have an easier time later in the day. If you go late make sure to bring a headlamp and make plenty of noise on the trail. This is a beautiful trail that is 4.4 miles in length and has around 1,000 feet of elevation gain.The trail starts off in a lush open desert but soon narrows up into a high wall canyon. Then it starts ascending up towards the Pine Canyon pour off. There was just a trickle here on this hike today but it was still an amazing hike. 5 Days Drilling for Water in ETHIOPIA | Bringing water to remote regions of Africa NotLostNomad 2024-03-09 | In this video we return to Bantu, Ethiopia to spend 5 days drilling water wells for local villages.We were able to drill 3 water wells and bring water to over 600 people.Our journey begins by arriving in Bantu and we make our repairs for the drilling rig.Then the next day we make our journey to the first wellsite. This story is more about the people of Ethiopia and what its like bringing clean water to this part of the world. First of all this is not the best quality due to the fact that my camera equipment was stolen in Addis Ababa and I had to film with my old GoPro with poor audio and zero stabilization.Then we have Bo who had issues receiving his Ethiopian Visa and gets stuck in Istanbul, Turkey. So we are drilling without a lead, rainy season comes out of nowhere, and we are having many issue with our gear...but hen there's more.
