Muzik BikeHere's a block transmutation method I accidentally discovered a year ago while taking screenshots of blocks in the 1.8 snapshots for the wiki. Originally I didn't think too much of it, and it was only until a couple of weeks ago where I remembered its existence and tried to figure out a way to set it up in a Survival-usable way. This is the first prototype of that effort.
Before block states were a thing, it seems that doors worked by having the top half change the metadata of the bottom half of the door block. However, since metadata applies to any block, if we use update suppression to put the top half of any desired block, we gain access to a powerful new method of block transmutation that allows any of the data values 0-7 of the desired block to be accessed. Specifically, opening and closing the top half of a door will add or subtract 4 from the metadata of the block below it.
With this, we can achieve many new metadata variants of blocks not previously known to be achievable, such as faceless furnaces. This can also be combined with arrow transmutation in many cases where metadata 0 is inaccessible normally to obtain any of the 15 metadata values for blocks with collision.
In this video, I show a way to create a powered rail with metadata 7, which is actually an unused state of the powered rail which acts as a diagonal version. It can be powered to become state 15, which is its boosting version. This is probably also achievable through Infdev transmutation and the removed cloth blocks, but this method is arguably cleaner (and also allows for equivalent states for activator rails, which cannot be achieved this way).
The Minecraft Wiki lists the old metadata values for redstone rails in the history section, in case you want to see what rail variants transform into what: minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Powered_Rail#History
WARNING: Update suppression with pistons does have a chance to corrupt level.dat on singleplayer worlds - remember to take a backup of the world each time you do it to prevent data loss.
I will also say that getting a door top half to stick around seems very inconsistent - if you can't get it to work it may be worth changing the direction you place the door in.

I don't know how to reproduce this on desktop, but on mobile, if you hold down your finger on one main level, then touch the arrow, hold down another finger on another level, and then release at the exact same frame, you get into this glitched state.
The music of one level is paired with the level data of the other, which stops rendering after a given point (but collision and such still works). The issue here appears to be that if more than one coin is collected at the exact same instant, it registers as only one coin. There are four groups of two in the elevator section which are like this, and collecting both coins in each only registers a single collection.
