Fabulous Myrna Loy scenes from Love Me Tonight (1932) Tori Mentz 2011-05-04 | Here is the fabulous Myrna Loy in "Love Me Tonight" (1932). This is a pre-code movie that has Myrna Loy saying some things that she wouldn't be able to say in a couple more year once the Hays Code becomes enforced in 1934. Before this film she was usually cast as the exotic woman. This is one of the few roles that she did during the Pre-code era that was more like the future roles she would be playing. I love these scenes because she is very feisty and has some great "zingers." There are a couple of other scenes that she is in but she doesn't say anything of any consequence. These are the best ones.

Slightly Dangerous scene - Lana Turner finds her Johnny Tori Mentz 2011-04-25 | If you watched the other video I posted from this movie you'll find that "Johnny" is a term for the guy that you fall in love with. His name could be anything, but since you haven't met him yet you just call him Johnny until you finally meet him. Lana Turner is phenomenal in this film with Robert Young. I love the look she gives him when she finally realizes that Bob is her "Johnny" Peggy is 21 and bored. She has just been awarded a certificate for starting work on time for 1000 days. She decides that she needs a change so she leaves a note, which is taken to be suicidal, and heads for New York where she gets a make over. A new outfit, a new look and a freak accident gets her in the paper as an amnesia victim, just because she does not want to be Peggy Evans any more. The paper thinks she may be an heiress so she searches for a few clues from back issues of the paper and finds that Carol Burden was never found. Cornelius Burden, however, has sent dozens of frauds to jail already and she must trick him and Baba to keep out of jail. Next, she must stop her old manager, Bob Stuart (Robert Young), from spilling the beans about her. When Bob finds Peggy he declares that she is his wife, Cornelius demands an explanation. Bob shows Cornelius a fake marriage certificate with Peggy's lifted fingerprint on it and states that she has had amnesia for as long as he has known her and, consequently, he knows nothing about her childhood. While insisting that she has no memory of Bob, Peggy convinces Cornelius, whom she has grown to love like her own father, to allow her to go to Hotchkiss Falls to make her own determinations. On the way, Bob confronts Peggy with her deception, then informs her about the trouble she has caused him. Peggy persists in her impersonation, however, and while stopped at an all-night restaurant, sabotages his car. She got into fights with many of the girls. She wanted to kill as many "Japs" as possible because her boyfriend was killed by them. The "Stage Door Canteen" was a real place during WWII where Broadway actors and actresses worked on their off hours in order to help the troops. They would serve, cook, host, sign autographs, and dance with the servicemen. Sorry about the quality, but since this film is in the public domain, it's hard to find a good copy. These are my favorite actors in the film. I am a theatre buff and I KNOW that if i was living during this time I would have been a HUGE fan of these performers. It involves my favorite actress with one of my favorite actors (toss up between him and James Stewart) Irene Dunne and Cary Grant star in this delightful movie "My Favorite Wife" which was remade into the Doris Day movie "Move Over Darling" no offense to Doris Day, but i love this version 100x more. The plot: Irene Dunne was shipwrecked for 7 years and belived to be dead. Her husband (Cary Grant) went to the judge to proclaim her dead so that he could remarry. Irene Dunne comes back on this exact day and arrives to the hotel where the newlyweds will be having their Honeymoon. Fortunately for her, she catches his eye before he can change his bride to a wife....if you know what I mean ; ) Definately some adlibbing in this scene because Irene Dunne and Cary Grant are naturals at it. I love the differences in how they say the name "Bianca" lol

It will be completed at 12midnight tonight. Jerry is engaged to an heiress and is just waiting for the divorce to be finished. He arrives at his fiance's house to enjoy some cocktails with her family. Lucy Warriner pretends to be his sister and crashes the party. Making a mess out of everything.This movie is said to have been mostly adlibbed and both Irene Dunne and Cary Grant are masters at it. Irene Dunne is hysterical and if what they say is true than these words are mainly her own and were not written for her. When she dances to the song "Gone With the Wind" it has been confirmed that her "i never could do that" is an adlib.
