Please note, this is NOT social anxiety. I'm trying to be as scientifically accurate as I can, so I decided to create a separate film for each of the anxiety disorders. (I will be taking a break now, though, since this one completely drained me).
Most videos on youtube are about "anxiety" which is pretty inaccurate. There are a couple of different anxiety disorders: panic attacks, agoraphobia, social anxiety, specific phobias, generalized anxiety disorder. All of these differ and I think each deserves a separate video, not a messy mash-up.
A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who sent me emails describing their anxiety disorders. I wouldn't have written this without your help.

Most videos on youtube are about "anxiety" which (scientifically speaking) is pretty inaccurate. For all my fellow weirdos. Some of this is based on my private experience. If you have any of these "symptoms" (though this is not the whole spectrum), you might want to take an OCD test online. If it turns out positive and you feel your daily life is negatively affected, try visiting a psychologist. Hopefully this video encourages you to read a bit about the disorder.
Don't be ashamed - more people suffer from OCD than you might think. We're just really good at hiding it.
Hope this helps you understand the process. I made this because many people seem to think that being depressed is something you choose and that in the end, it all comes down to looking out the window and listening to sad music. The truth is, it's very much beyond your control. ------------------- No, I have never suffered from depression. I've known and lived with people who are bipolar for many years now and this is why I think I might have a pretty good understanding of how things work.
I'm not in the positon to give you any advice on how to cope with it. If you think you might be suffering from depression, please visit a specialist. You have to trust me - it's the only way to go about it. Please feel free to share your story in the comments. Others might need it.
