🔥 Hand Holding Marble-Lost Wax Bronze Casting🔥 Backyard Foundry 2024-03-24 | This is a lost wax, casting I made using my own hand. I got molding material from the local craft store and embedded my hand in it. Then, I pulled my hand out and poured wax into the cavity that was left. Then I am bedded the wax in a plaster of Paris mix, which I then burned the wax out in my kiln, and poured the bronze medal into what was left. How do you like it? Lost Foam Casting a Phone Holder for using with a Tripod Backyard Foundry 2020-05-08 | Todays video is a lost foam casting that I did to make a phone holder to use on a camera tripod. It was good to get the foundry fired up. I cast this using aluminum. I made the pattern using a presentation board that has the foam in the center of it. I thought it was a wasted cast because the sand I used was too wet and I added too much clay to try to fix it...so I got a lot of steam when i poured it and it didn't fill completely. But it did result it a usable part even if it isn't very pretty. Hopefully it will give someone inspiration about what is possible...and also show you what not to do too. Maybe I will do another pour to show you how it should look.

How I Made Self Watering Grow bags Backyard Foundry 2014-05-03 | These bags are available at many supermarkets, and big stores like Walmart, etc. There are many advantages to using them for gardening...for instance, they will air prune the roots so that they don't get root bound in the pot. When the root gets near the edge, it stops growing and that way, more root production takes place from the main stem. When filled with a mixture of a third of vermiculite, compost and peat moss (or coconut core), the water will wick up from the storage reservoir in the bottom to provide more even and consistent watering.
