I decided to get my Permanent Makeup (Powder Ombre Brows) removed (PMU removal) and it’s NOT because they weren’t well done. They were actually EXTREMELY well done by one of the best in the industry. Yet, I am getting them removed. Why? 1. Brow makeup trends change dramatically throughout history. Think about it: The current trends is fluffy and airy (laminated). 3 years ago it was ombre in the front and bold through the mids and ends. In the 1950s, it was arched and angular (Marilyn Monroe) and in the 1990s it was SUPER SKINNY, rounded and thin (Gwen Stefani in No Doubt). Brow trends change constantly. 2. As a makeup artist, I want to be able to change my brows depending on the look I am creating. No makeup day? Light and fluffy. Bold smoky eyes? Darker and defined. I want to have control over it like I have control over my eyeliner. 3. I didn’t want to keep doing touchups or have regular maintenance and over time they went a tad grey (which is completely normal and is my fault because I never touched them up.) 4. I have hair on my brows so I don’t feel like I look “off” when I don’t wear any makeup and I am not at all self conscious about not having brows in the pool, beach, heat, etc. 5. As I get older, I feel like a softer look is more flattering on my changing features. Will I get them done again? Maybe. Maybe not. I’m not sure but right now, I just want to start fresh.
