Craft with me to make an easy fun tag file holder using French labels in pinks, reds, greens, and purples. Lets make a 1930-50s vintage journal together- textiles & photos - part 3 Journal Breeze 2024-08-02 | We continue sorting with textiles and hankies being the main focus today. To conclude the sorting are digital photos I will use for this journal. Hope you'll join me as we step back in time nearly 100 years, yikes!Corrections and a bit more history about Colleen, my mom's dear life long friend from high school on whose picture is in a digital kit I came across on Etsy recently! Of course I purchased it and it will be in the 1940s decade of this journal.If you're an old movie buff, I want to correct the name I gave to the starlet's picture I show in this video and add a little bit more info for fun. Her name then was Colleen Townsend, not Williams. I did a Google search and discovered the likely reason for the chicken on her head picture. She was billed third behind Dan Dailey and Celeste Holm in the movie Chicken Every Sunday, 1949. She had a contract with 20th Century Fox and was the cover story for Life Magazine in 1948 before marrying the minister in 1950, becoming Colleen Townsend Evans. Louie Evans was the founding pastor of the Bel Air Presbyterian Church which he began it in their home, eventually moving to Washington DC where he served at the National Presbyterian Church. President Reagan had a ranch in Santa Barbara and a home in the Beverly Hills /Bel Air area. I'm not clear on who was in D.C. first, but President Reagan attended his church while living there. To quote from Google, "Thereafter she dedicated herself to humanitarian work, specifically in relation to racial or religious discrimination, human rights, and the role of women in society." They were both very kind and caring to me, and my family.It's been fun to reminisce a bit, thank you for indulging me.Thanks for stopping by today.
