Transcript: Just like all cats are mammals, but not all mammals are cats. All Crypto Art are NFTs but not all NFTs are Crypto Art. I've made a video on basics of NFTs or non fungible tokens, you can go check that out. But today I'm here to explain the basics of what Crypto Art is, becasue Crypto Art is a digital artwork that is linked to a non fungible token.
Traditionally Crypto Art was related to the rise of crypto currencies like bitcoin and ethereum and had symbolism around that, but it's now more loosely accepted as any digital art that has been tokenised on the the blockchain in order to associate digital proof of ownership.
So what does that mean? It means what we've taken for granted in the real world, that a physical painting can be authenticated and owned now has the equivalent in the digital world. This is huge because this has never been possible for digital artists in the past. A token acting as a digital certificate for a digital file securely held on a permanent network of computers now allows digital artists to sell their work like never before.
Crypto art is not just the digital file. It is the digital file backed by the NFT. So just like you can go online and find M. C. Escher 'drawing hands' and download it and print it, you would never try to convince anyone it's the original, because you don't own the letter of authenticity. The same now goes for digital art, everyone can see or download it, but only one can prove they own it.
The question of the value of owning a digital artwork now lies with the market. The market of collectors. Beeple sold this work for $1 and a couple of months later sold this one for $777k. Paris Hilton drew this picture of her cat and it sold for $17k. Justin Roiland the creator of Rick and Morty drew this sketch and it sold for $90k. Of course if you already have a fanbase, anything you sell will be worth more. But even small artists can find collectors that just like the art or want to support their work.
Pop art used to be disregarded as cheap and distasteful, Street art used to just be vandalism, and until recently, digital art was just for Instagram likes.
When you mint an NFT for Crypto Art you're not giving away any copyright or rigths of reproduction. You are creating a new thing, a new product. That buyer can then enjoy it, and sell it whenever they please.
So where can you sell? There's an ever changing list of places to buy and sell on the primary or secondary market so I'll keep a list below in the description. I've also made a video on popular ones in the past.
Most Crypto Art sites currently use Ethereum to do their transactions so you need to be set up with an Ethereum wallet to connect and transfer to. You also need a little Ethereum to start with in your wallet to pay for minting or transaction fees. You can always transfer your Ethereum back out to your exchange of choice to cash out to FIAT or Dollars whenever you want.
In the future Crypto Art will just be called art. But at the moment, digital art is going through a movement led by changes in technology. The struggle of the artist will still remain, to create something with meaning and value, to find an audience or collectors. But the success of crypto currency in general has brought a wave of investors with big wallets to make a splash and bring eyeballs to the space with large transactions. The art world is a way to legitimize the space with creative thinkers, emotional ideas, entertainment and connection to culture that is worth investing in.
Early creators and collectors alike will be rewarded for their involvement in this movement.

Welcome to the world of digital art, a place where creativity knows no bounds and the possibilities are endless. In this video, we're going to explore the incredible potential of digital art and how you can turn your passion into profit.
The digital art industry is booming, and one of the most exciting developments in recent years has been the emergence of NFTs or non-fungible tokens. NFTs are unique digital assets that are verified on a blockchain, making them unique, ownable and sometimes highly valuable.
NFTs allow digital artists to monetize their work in ways that were previously impossible. Artists can now sell their digital creations as one-of-a-kind pieces, rather than just digital files for clients. This has led to a surge in demand for digital art and has created a whole new market for artists to tap into.
I never thought I'd be able to make a living from my digital art, but thanks to NFTs, I'm now able to sell my work for thousands of dollars. It's opened up a whole new world of opportunities for me.
NFTs are not just beneficial for the artists, but also for the collectors and investors. I advocate buying what you love, first and foremost, but a collector that makes the right savvy choice, they can buy unique digital artworks that may become more valuable to others in the future, and with the digital art market growing rapidly, NFTs may be a great way to invest in the future of that artist or group.
In March 2021, an NFT of a digital artwork by the artist Beeple sold for a record-breaking $69 million at Christie's auction house. This marked the top of the first wave of hype and we are now back to pre-hype levels which could prove to be a great new entry point for artists and collectors alike.
But it's not just about the money, NFTs also help to protect the artist's rights and give them control over their work. Artists can now have a say in how their work is used and distributed. It's a win-win situation for both the artist and the collector.
So, whether you're an artist looking to monetize your work, a collector looking to invest in unique digital assets, or just curious about the world of digital art, NFTs are an exciting new frontier. The possibilities are endless and the potential for profit is insane. Thanks for watching!

Discord: discord.gg/j6HkCnQ6F7NFT Slang (Beginner Lingo)Rhett Mankind2022-03-02 | NFT slang can be hard to understand for the uninitiated. So let me initiate you with some top words used and simple explanations.
Transcript:
So if you're squeaky new to crypto and NFTs you are entering a space with a thriving community with their own jargon, lingo and language, that can be hard to understand for the uninitiated. So let me initiate you with some top words used and simple explanations.
Gm = Good morning. and sometimes Gn for good night. Often used in the NFT space as a good will gesture while letting people know you're online.
1/1 Art = A scare single NFT backed digital artwork. A single piece not part of multiple edition.
PFP = Stands for Profile Picture. A kind of NFT art designed to work as a digital avatar on social media.
WAGMI = Short for "we all gonna make it" even shorter as GMI "gonna make it" often used to uplift the like-minded that we're all in this together especially after positive news.
GAS = is the name of the transaction costs or fees usually on the Ethereum blockchain required to make a transaction.
HODL = A replacement term for hold. holding with commitement to your crypto or NFTs. Stands for "hold on for dear life"
WL or Whitelist = is the same as an allow list or presale lists. Giving permission to a select group of people and wallets to get access to a specific release by collecting their addresses for some exclusivity.
Bot = short for robot which refers to the automated software designed by programmers to do specific actions without much intervention, such as execute trades and offers, respond to chat questions, or automate posts on Discord.
DYOR = Do your own research. That's what you're doing right now. Looking into things for yourself and making your own assesement.
IPFS = Stands for "InterPlanetary File System" Many NFTs point to an external source outside of the blockchain. IPFS is a storage system network designed in a decentralized and distributed way and not on a single-host server.
Mint = "producing for the first time" in this context, The creation of a brand new NFT onto the blockchain.
Secondary = This is not the primary sale market, the direct first sale from an artists, but rather the resale market. The secondary market is where you can buy an NFT at market value.
Rarity = Some profile picture collectibles can be around 10,000 items and some items are more common and more rare than others. The character traits (usually held in the metadata) can often be more desirable if very scarce and demand higher resale value. Such as gold skin, or cyborg eyes.
Shilling = Shilling is promoting an NFT project on social media for marketing.
Degen = short form of degenerate. If you degen into something you know it's a possible risky or bad bet but you do it anyway, often with no due dilligence or research.
NFA = Not Financial advice. A disclaimer many say or write after an opinion to reinforce that they are not paid accredited professionals and just sharing their thoughts or actions.
There are plenty more terms and new ones being invented everyday, but that will hopfully get you started navigating the NFT space and not feeling too dumb when on Twitter and Discord.
Discord: discord.gg/j6HkCnQ6F7How much did I earn?! I played Thetan Arena for 3 weeksRhett Mankind2021-12-21 | A real breakdown of play to eearn game Thetan Arena. From day one for three weeks.
Transcript: So a lot of chitter chatter on YouTube and TikTok on how you can make 10, 20 even $100 per hour playing new play to earn game Thetan Arena. But I don't trust, I verify. So I kept records on my earning journey from the first day of Official Public Release of Thetan Arena to today, 3 weeks in.
And I'm not going to make you watch the steps and the spreadsheet that follows, I'm going to tell you straight up. -$916 is how much you can make. You can't make money, at all. It will cost you. The current tokenomic setup and cost to play with a mid level character will cost you, a lot.
This doesn't mean things can't change. With future changes to the game, tokenomics and incentives it might actually start to generate income. But this also makes this game highly centralized. I'm also not talking about the game play itself. It's actually a really well made game, very addictive, and I found myself just playing for fun and to improve my skill even when my characters earning capability had depleted for the day.
Let's go through this. First, you have to buy a character that has earning potential. The hype was so big on release that the price of everything shot up on the day so it cost me $1000 USD to buy my first character (and that was after shopping around and it was even less than the random boxes at the time) to counter this the makers WolfFun offered a half price box five days after launch for those that bought in on day one. I took advantage of this so I didn't just have one character and this cost me another $300.
Other things you should know. You have to wait a couple of weeks to withdraw after starting. There's also 4% fee to withdraw and minimum of 750 gTHC. And to be honest the tokenonimcs currently seem designed for price to go down because everyone just cashes out as soon as they can :( and gTHC is an unlimited supply with limited utility. They are working on a burn mechanic on buying back coins from their internal earnings, but it's still not healthy right now.
Depending on your character you get a win multiple attached usually 10gTHC / Loss = 1gTHC / Draw - 2 gTHC
On a balanced game with matched player skill levels you should win around 50% of the time.
(Spreadsheet numbers)
When I first started playing one of the first Play to Earn games Axie Infinity the earnings weren't that dissimilar. The earning capabilities were like $10 a day. But as things matured, utility increased, more players flocked in. The value of the characters I had initially bought and the AXS I had earned had multiplied 20x when I sold 6 months later. So in 6 months time things may also mature with Thetan Arena and extra utility may be added to my existing characters, you never know. But as it stands today, it will cost you $20 per hour to play.

So here's a little background on Animetas.
It's a pixel style collectible series. Based in a futuristic world inspired by 80s and 90s pop culture where earth becomes no longer habitable for humans. In my opinoin it's what CryptoPunks should have been. It has better art and more utility. It has a huge variety of traits not limited to just accessories over the same base image, it has a 1:1 female male ratio and has characters of all ages and ethnicities.
Their Discord community is fairly active and they have had a number of interesting roadmap project rollouts with my favourite coming Nov 30. Any holder of an Animeta can claim a free hovercar per Animeta held.
So if you love pixel art, futuristic narratives, world building, and a family friendly community then Animetas might be a collection you're interested in.
Transcript: So Justin Taylor is the head of consumer product marketing at Twitter and he just shared a video sneak peek of what they are working on. NFT profile verification. The video made by a software engineer with the title "Working on bringing crypto/nft in Twitter"
So this is very likely going to happen and rollout out sometime in the future. We have already seen celebrities come on board and support their preferred PFP project and use their avatar as a flex, like Steph Curry, Snoop Dog, Jay Z and many more.
NFT users: 300,000 (OpenSea) DeFi users: 10,000,000 Internet users: 4,500,000,000
So for me the PFP NFT craze is far from over and we will see many more people and projects align themselves with this. Just like many people use brands to signal wealth or style or relevance to show they align with a certain kind of thinking, like Prada, Louis Vuitton, Supreme, Nike, people will do this more and more with their digital profiles.
Especially when you can have the equivalent of a verification tick to confirm you actually own a Profile picture.
So I'll be looking at this a lot more in the future. What are PFP NFTs? (Avatar projects explained for beginners)Rhett Mankind2021-09-23 | I take a brief overview of Profile Picture NFT projects. Where they came from, why they exist and what they're generally about.

Transcript: Like comic books in the 70s to outsiders it just seems like something weird and nerdy just for kids, until 30 years later everyone is enjoying a Marvel film at the cinema. The culture and community slowly builds over time until it takes over and you turn into a grumpy old person realizing you missed a game changing movement.
PFP communities build around what people enjoy. People enjoy Memes. People enjoy status. People enjoy being part of something bigger than themselves.
The basic primary desire to mix digital with social and belong to a community.
It's come off the back of two projects mainly that proved the case and have done well. Crypto Punks which were free to mint 4 years ago and Bored apes that cost .08 Eth to mint a few month ago. Crypto Punks proved the technology in an art way showing how it's possible to have generative qualities and traits with all the verifiable stuff that comes with NFTs. Bored Apes took that a step further, upped the quality of the art and random generative approach and provided a roadmap that showed you were joining a club. Every other avatar project has taken the lead from there and added their own value and approach.
It's a way into helping build an early community, based around an art style genre you like, and betting on a team like in a way you might buy stocks in an early startup hoping they build further utility into the project
Some I have are Bored Apes, MetaHeroes, Vogu, Animeta, Evols, DotDotDot. I obviously kick myself because I passed on Crypto Punks at a few hundred dollars, and are beyond my budget now at millions of dollars, but you never know.
Some I missed I will still try and get in on Cool Cats, Meebits, Ones I like but probably won't jump into World of Women, Sup ducks, Cyber Kongz. I think you can't effectively be part of every community. You must choose. And the great part is that being an active part of the community can bring greater value to it overall. Strong community equals a strong coin or NFT project.
So if you want to join a group or movement often you can even join their Discords for free. Then if you want to take part further then jump in, but know that PFP NFT are extremely liquid especially after the first couple of weeks of launch.
You can use rarity tools to check scarcity and also what is launching soon (please know that they pay to get listed.) But I mainly just watch my Twitter feed to see what people are getting excited about and what I'm vibing with.
Drop any questions you may have in the comments and I may do a follow up Q&A or let me know which PFP you're part of and why.
Art: http://mankind.artHow to get Flow Token and connect to Versus platformRhett Mankind2021-04-30 | Simple tutorial walk through of the process of converting USDT in Metamask to Flow Token.
So there are a few hoops to jump through, but if you can manage it then you will be ahead of others who can't be bothered. You can buy Flow direct on a couple of exchanges like Kraken of Houbi. You'll have to sign up for an account and there's currently exclusions for US and Canada not allowed to purchase. But if you already have Metamask and some USDT I'll show you how to get some FLOW.
- First you'll need a Blockto wallet
There are 2 ways. Through Flow Port and through Blockto mobile app.
So for Flow Port - Using Google Chrome (I tried using Brave browser but I think it didn't like the popup or ad blockers) go to Flow Port port.onflow.org - Click Sign up - Choose Blockto as provider - And theoretically.. Follow the user interface prompts to create a new Flow Account Address. - After you create your account, you should be logged into Flow Port. You can now see your account address in Flow Port I had a little trouble with this hanging (maybe it was a popup blocker issue again, I don't know) so I did the mobile method.
So get a Blockto wallet. You can do this by downloading the mobile app. Go to their website and scan the QR code or just find it on the app store. - you sign up using your email address - Then just add a new token wallet by going to 'Manage Assets' "Add" search for Flow and tap the plus. You should now have a Flow wallet connected to your Blockto account.
- For the next step you will need USDT in your Metamask wallet There are a number of ways so I won't go into this. But you can use any exchange like Binance to purchase crypto then send it to your Metamask wallet, or you can buy Ethereum direct on Metamask in some cases and then you'll need to convert some of your ETH to USDT using a a platform like Uniswap.
So once you have some USDT - Tether
- Convert USDT to tUSDT so this is exchanging the USD stable coin tether on Ethereum blockchain into USD stable coin that is on Flow Blockchain.
https://swap.blocto.app/ Sign in with your Blocto email account (Flow wallet) Connect your Ethereum Metamask wallet Enable tUSDT account Approve USDT Teleport USDT to tUSDT Takes around 15 minutes
Then finally
- Convert tUSDT to FLOW Click “Swap” in the upper left corner. Fill in the amount of tUSDT you would like to exchange for FLOW. (I just clicked MAX amount) Check the info and adjust your slipperage tolerance if needed. Click “Swap” and confirm swap. And done!
You can now come across to a platform like versus and you should be able to sign in and see you balance available.
Links are in the description. I hope that helps you out in the process of getting your first Flow tokens. Till next time. See ya later. ---
It has been a while since my first reviews of NFT marketplaces, so I wanted to check in with you about new platforms in the space that are on my radar. I am not on any of these yet so I have no vested interest, just my take and initial impressions.
I think these are worth introducing you to because not only are there many new platforms on the Ethereum blockchain, but these ones are new NFT minting platforms on different whole blockchains. That means the general idea of minting NFTs remains the same but the process of executions will be different which I won't exactly get into here but for example you will need different crypto wallets for each different blockchain.
Each of the following blockchains have energy usage a lot lower than on PoW blockchains like Ethereum. So the cost of minting an NFT on Tezos, Flow and Binance Smart Chain has been compared to sending a Tweet on Twitter. Potentially vastly different energy consumption.
This combined with less userbase then Ethereum means gas fees are ultra low, like sometimes measured in cents rather than hundreds of dollars.
The first blockchain we'll look at is Tezos and the first platform is
hic et nunc it's latin for here and now hic et nunce - i think I'll keep calling it hic et nunc
It's an Open marketplace (like Rarible or Open Sea) Quickly mint an NFT, share it, sell it. At first viewing it's almost like an anti platform, non featured user interface, no search, tabs, follows, some tags, pretty punk in it's ethos, maybe too obscure but often that kind of platform can be nice to play around with and a good entry place of discovery and learning.
also on Tezos is another platform called
Kalamint. Curated marketplace for selected artists (Like SuperRare or MakersPlace) As you can see, you can Buy Now, have different edition numbers etc
The next platform is on Flow. Dapper Labs is responsible for Flow and they are also known for Crypto Kitties and NBA Top Shots which have done super well. Their first NFT marketplace is called
Vive Free to mint. Smart contract deployment, blockchain minting and transaction fees are all covered. Creators earn 87.5% from direct sales of their works. Additionally, they can earn up to 10% from the resale of these same assets when they get traded peer-to-peer on VIV3 marketplace.
Ben Mauro is ultra respected concept artists for film and he created a collectible card series that sold super well with smart trading card drop mechanics and obvioulsy amazing character design.
Another platform soon to be released on Flow is
Versus I am one of the launch artists on this platform which will include auctions and limited editions with a twist. they should be launching early May I think.
And finally On the Binance Smart Chain is
BakerySwap It started as an AMM (Automated Market Maker) Protocol with swap and yield farming features. So you can swap coins or stake them for returns. You can see at first glance at how a little bit a curation can go a long way for quality, but allowing openess can get a new platform up an running pretty quickly. You can even use the same Metamask Browser extension you may have used for Ethereum but under Custom RPC setup.
That's it, If you're new but early to a platform it can really help to establish yourself in a blue ocean of potential rather than compete in the red ocean full of sharks.
I'll have the links in description. But if you try any of these platforms I'd love to get you response on how you found them to use.

This mother f*cker who many of us in the digital art world have know for a long time just put some of his images together in a collection, made a slide show, chucked a bar code on it, put it in a digital frame and included some hair in a jar that's not even his pubes. Put it up for sale and just made $3.5M dollars this weekend. What the F*ck!
Fungible means something is able to be exchanged or substituted and will hold the same value. It's interchangeable like the dollar, gold, casino chips, bitcoin, ethereum or frequent flyer loyalty points.
If I lend you 10 dollars cash and you return to me two 5 dollar bank notes, I'm fine with that because even though they are different, they hold the same total value.
So non-fungile obviously means it's an asset that can't be substituted. It has unique attributes that makes it different from something else in the same asset class. Like a painting, a theatre ticket, a house, a video game skin, a trademark or a CryptoKitty which was the first real use case to take off on the Ethereum blockchain in 2017.
Some of these assets are physical and tangible and others are digital and intangible.
So NFTs are non-fungible tokens. 'Token' refers to a digital certificate stored on a secure distributed database called a blockchain.
NFTs are digital assets. Publicly verifiable intellectual property authenticated on a blockchain.
A popular place to currently browse a variety of NFTs is on http://OpenSea.io
It's an exciting space, I believe the NFT space will continue to grow in the coming years with some popular use cases being: Digital Art, Virtual Land, Gaming, Collectibles, Finance and much more.
I thought this was worth explaining because I think we'll be talking a lot more about this in the coming years.
